Steve Harvey Show HBCU Band Challenge

Listen up maggots! And that's an order!
I was listening to Steve Harvey on the way into work and the discussion and callers were about who got the best HBCU band.

Steve came up with an idea..and is going to have a challenge..

He wants bands to e-mail performances of the band playing while marching (not in the stands cuz he said anyone can play and stand in place at the same time) to the show.

The clips must be two-minutes and sent to [email protected]

I don't know if anyone else was listening...but a dude name Terrance that went to SU is working for the show, Carla went to PV..but the callers were basically those old east-coast MeWack folks.
 
Steve Harvey's ignorant country azz don't need to judge HBCU bands. He's gon' pick somebody like Virginia Union.

Terrence Banks is a former Jukebox member(Alto Sax) and is SPR 86 KKPSI. He has worked for Steve Harvey for awhile now. He is from Plaquemine La.

We used to called him Raspberry. His younger brother was DM at SU in 89.

I thought I was the only one that thought he was ignant and country. LOL

I hate his show and I hope it gets cancelled here in Chicago next year and they bring back the old DJ.

Does he want the university to send the clips? I would prefer that to happen or a clip that has been approved by the university before it is sent.

Some of the clips I've heard over the internet sound bad and it's not the band. Some sound alright.
 
I think they were going to try to set up a fans vote for it....Actually Steve was talking up Southern and Grambling up a bit.

Yeah! And his other younger brother, Brian"Bushwick" Banks is my Crab Bro. All of those Banks boys marched in the band except the youngest.
 
Maybe what needs to happen is this:

Send parade clips....

Or send clips of the band marching in/out playing..... Fieldshow clips are sometimes hard to judge, depending on where the clips were shot, whether the clip is good or not, or whether the clips were shot from the stands (having all the background chatter/noise)..

Steve was at the Bayou Classic. I remember seeing Sharpy's pictures and Steve and his wife being there. Also, I think Steve has ties to Southern with some type of Scholarship fund that he and his ex-wife set up.

He spoke at Graduation a few years ago and I think we gave him an honorary degree.
 
It just sprang up this morning when callers were shouting bands and what not. Steve said they were going to work on the prizes and other things involving the format.

So I think there will be a definite format sometime later this week or earlier next week.
