St. James Hires James Bell as New Head Football Coach


How many lives does this guy have? In spite of his name being a "byword" at JSU, it's amazing that he can get job after job, especially with his pathetic overall record. It's like 11-53, when you count his 0-9 high school record.:smh:

The Devil is a Liar thread? Hmmmmm.........dont really remember that thread, but I DO remember the thread about Coach Robinson being in line to buy his ticket after he was ran out of coaching. That was one of the saddest things I've ever read on this board. :(

Hmmm...I wonder what that recommendation letter said that your President Puddin wrote for Bell to get the job at St. James....

Lost Jamboree 33-8 to Hahnville... team they've beaten up on in recent years.
I was willing to give Coach Bell a chance but wow, that is embarrassing, especially knowing that St. Charles whipped Hahnville last week. Saddest part is that SJH has the talent. I knew the OL was the weakest link, but 5 sacks in the first half and -9 yards rushing?? that's just ridiculous. The community is going to turn on Bell real quick if things don't turn around soon.

DESTREHAN — When first-year St. James coach James Bell gathers with his fellow coaches, and the topic turns to “first game horror stories,†Bell has a tale that will top them all.

It starts with St. James losing its best player on the game’s first play. Then it gets worse, as the Wildcats dropped a lopsided 33-8 decision to Hahnville at the Ed Reed River Parishes Jamboree Thursday at Destrehan High.

“Oh yeah, some games you remember,†Bell said after the game. “I’m going to remember this one.â€
