Another exciting, hard-fought, down-to-the-wire, down-to-the-last-second Bayou Classic! Like our head football coach Thomas said about Grambling, no matter what kind of season they have, you can't go by what's on paper; no matter what kind of season they have, as long as those guys have that "G" on their helmet, they're gonna play to Grambling standard. Once again Grambling held the attention of our conference and reminded why they're called, "The Icon of Black College Football."

Southern was down 3-21, and even though they got some more points on the board, they were still trailing at halftime. My oldest daughter sent me a text that read, "Idk about my school". When I got home, she was giving me updates on how the Jags were playing. I told her, "Southern may be your alma mater, but I've been watching the Jags play for a while now. They're dangerous after the half because they'll come back on you". Today, we saw a glimpse of nostalgia, with the Jags taking us back 20 years ago. And they reminded us that even 20 years later, they can still creep on a comeup.

Great game by the 2 Louisiana College football giants! Another one for the books!

With the very positive post....
Don't be putting peroxide on it, then the band aid over the wound for us... You just made it alright for us just like that huh...lol

I hope you know me well enough to know that I try to see and post the positive in all of our schools. Our coach was right when he said you can't talk about the SWAC without mentioning Grambling. The Tigers played very, very well today and I wanted to acknowledge that. Also, please know that had it been GSU, I would've sent congratulatory regards to the Tigers. :)

This was my first ever Bayou Classic, & my first time in New Orleans since 2005 when I was 16 years old

I had an absolute blast besides the humidity. Hopefully my band can come back next year! If not I’ll make the trip anyways without any students with me!
You're a band director?

Glad you had a good time in my city!

Nice Atl! Have a safe trip! I wish I could leave New Orleans with y’all, but now I have to prepare to hear it from my SU family for another couple months! 😂

To make the kicker think about it and work up his nerves (good coaching move).

Good coaching move by Odums, (who makes plenty of bad coaching moves), and terrible coaching move by Fobbs!

You don’t many SWAC kickers make 40 yard field goals to win games, let alone beat their arch rivals! We looked like crap kicking field goals all game and struggled to kick kickoffs to the end zone. We moved down field pretty easy of that drive, so why not draw up a good play to get the first down after Odums called 2 TO’s to give you plenty of time to think?

Oh well, hold it down for Louisiana in the SCG!

Man please all of the missed calls and bogus b.s. that went in Grambling’s favor.

The refs sucked and missed calls on both sides. However, SU got the better end of the stick on yesterday’s no calls as two scores resulted after ridiculous officiating.

Anyway, I don’t play the woulda shoulda coulda game. The refs sucked, but sometimes referees suck. It’s apart of the game. GSU allowed the game to get to the point where we bad calls/no calls seriously hurt you. After being up 21-3, we simply loss the game. Period.

SU won, and that’s that. Good luck vs the Braves.

I know my powder blue wearing SU family loved it, but it felt like a damn 1990’s nightmare in that damn dome! Ugh! I thought those days were completely over! Damn Orlando! Damn Fobbs! Damn Todd!
