Why Are People So Shocked at the Situation Happening at SU?
I don't understand. What's the big fuss about. It has said on this board time and time again, WE NEED TO QUIT HIRING OUR BUDDIES, FRATS, SORORS, etc. if they are not qualified to do the job correctly. When black folks of today get power and authority, it's like they get out of control. Even worse, when you have someone young trying to do his or her job, the old heads love to flaunt their status. Anyway, I don't see why we are so shocked about what is happening at SU. That culture is engrained in HBCUs.

I remember back in the day, me and you use to clash over me talking about HBCUs. I'm telling you, you would be amazed at some of the people running our institutions. Black Pride and Ego are two dangerous things put together.

You are a smart man!!!! Everybody knows TC is not a well-liked individual at Southern, but he got his lips buried so far up them other folks azzes that he gets to keep his job. I'm sure them other folks uses him to start some crap so they won't look bad, such as removing Grambling from the Bayou Classic and merging Grambling into the SU System.

If they had to take three guys off the field AFTER THE NATIONAL ANTHEM (they must have been hiding all week ... but that compliance office KNOWS where to find those jokers on Saturday.. We (Texas Southern) has been thru similar situations that Southern is currently going thru. We've had our share of:
1) Incompetent Compliance Officers who were just here for a paycheck and going thru the motions.
2) Qualified Compliance Officers who were just overwhelmed with trying to run the entire athletic department by themselves only to get burned out and started cutting corners to try to meet deadlines and overlooked simple things another set of eyes would have caught had they had the man power.
3) Incompetent Compliance Officers put in place as a "favor" for someone high up on the food chain.
It's not that the university is "cheating" to get athletes cleared it's some previous administrations that didn't see the importance of adequately funding a compliance DEPARTMENT to facilitate accurate paperwork to satisfy a NCAA Division I program's requirements.

Actually the NCAA requires the compliance office(r) have a direct reporting line to someone outside of the athletics department for compliance matters. Some schools have Associate AD/Compliance Director as a single title and that person often reports to both the AD AND the President/Chancellor. Our Compliance officer isn't an associate AD, though, as far as I know.

But look mane.. WE get that. JSU had the same problem but we only had that issue for a year or two and we cleaned out.. THAT was like FIVE years ago. Same with TxSo.... you all got your house in order. WHY are houses NOT in order in 2014? TP is confused. Schools like SU and Alabama State need some white people to help them. These clown boards they have just keep hooking up their homies and running those schools in the ground.
