The 2018 athletic season saw the Jags come roaring back towards athletic dominance. Of the four major sports: football, men's basketball, women's basketball, and baseball, the Jags clamed conference championships in two of them, baseball, and women's basketball, as well as a western division championship in football. With greater competitiveness in men's basketball, men's tennis, bowling, softball and track n field for the 2019 campaign, the Jags are well positioneed to retake its rightful place at the top of the SWAC. The conference can go ahead and hand the football trophy to the Jags and the MVP to LaDarius Skelton. And a word to the wise, don't sleep on SU in men's basketball!

Bro I been alive for a while and I’m loss for word, I might say you are with the non revenue generating sports but the big three basketball, baseball and football you have to show me the facts and you are good with stats.

Good luck w/ that lol. I don’t see Bama St giving up their dominance in M/W t&f anytime soon. I’m slightly worried about strong football Alcorn being even stronger going into 2019. M basketball - 2 horse race between PV & sTu and sTu has gotten stronger.

As I see it now, there are 7 legit teams who can easily win the SWAC football championship and rep in the ATL during The CB.

All I'm saying is we Southern always gone be and always been top 3 or in top conversation every year. More than likely with us its last game of the year that decides whether we go to ship or not.

On a serious note...University High and Southern Lab High question. There always seem to be a stud or two coming out each year. Are these schools private or public? Lots of discussion about these two schools this week in Tuscaloosa...

Grambling is the football school
TxSU and Bama State are the basketball schools
We have track, bowling and soccer
Yall can have baseball I guess

The laboratory schools (U-High, Southern Lab and whatever they're calling Grambling Lab now) are considered public schools by the state. The students do have to pass the exit test to graduate. University is probably still the only school in the state with the international baccalaureate curriculum.

LOL Grambling is the football school of the Swac ( but doesn't own Southern). Dude come with facts. We got more championships in basketball and track than Txsu and definitely Bama st. Lol

No. Only Southern, LSU and Grambling have high schools on their campuses. The laboratory schools are generally K-12.
Southeastern also has a laboratory school, but it's only K-8. The former Grambling High is now Lincoln Prep, a charter school. I think @The Founder or someone else can fill in more about what went down and what's currently going on.

But side talk, not too many HBCUs have laboratory schools. Some have close relationships due to history and proximity (see Texas Southern/Jack Yates HS), but I can only think of Southern and FAMU as HBCUs currently with laboratory schools.

You all don't have to go far to recruit. The players are already on campus, thus, no NCAA violation (that is awesome). Thank you all for the info!

Txsu 8 Swac basketball championships

Baseball
Southern 27 Swac baseball championships most in the conference

Grambling has the most Swac football championships but doesn't own Southern. Su 37 Grambling 32 tied 1.

Now go tell Atl to post his numbers b4 making stupid statements.
