Sonic Boom is back; suspension lifted

Two days after suspending the Sonic Boom of the South, Jackson State University announced it has reversed the decision and will allow the band to perform at Saturday's game against rival Southern University.

The 280-member band was suspended Tuesday after parents and non-members raised hazing allegations.

"Some students were required to do sit ups and crunches if they did not perform their musical parts or marching routine correctly," Velvelyn Foster, vice president of academic affairs and student life, said in a news release. "We also found that some members of the band might have felt pressure because of the high expectation of excellence required of band members."

So, let me get this straight. You'd be confident in a Boom that supposedly hasn't been practicing all week?!?....:goof:

Blade the really sad part is that I wouldn't be surprised if they knew that they were coming all along.

Sad but true: They stopped practicing... The J'settes remained practicing though. They were having creative rehearsals to come up with a dance for Next Weeks Game... (just in case....)
but the BOOM didnt rehearse, I've been in Jackson all week and it was odd driving on campus and not hearing them on the field.
LOL it wasnt funny but It was funny not seeing Docs Explorer parked @ the band hall.
All I could do was say: Wow, this cant be happening! :shame:
They president called a meeting with the band today @ 6pm and announced to them that the Suspension was lifted. (I'm sure they texted all their buddies at SU and gave them the good news b/c my nephew say they been asking for updates all week for good news)

I dunno why you SUcks thought it was a game :shame:
Fugg all that smack talk... I'm excited, our band is back and our fans are ready to cheer our tigers on Saturday Night!

But thats good news..I heard the Marching Jukebox on the field last night..

:jump: Practice or no Practice. lifting the suspension so that they can come will be all they need. Everything else will take its place. The routine, sound, J-settes and Rocking your world.
