So...how many kids would y'all have nowadays?

No Kendrick...this is the kind of stuff Cee and c_t and others are talking about. Whether you got the "talk" or not if you are over the age of 21 (hell 18 for that matter) you KNOW if you have unprotected sexual intercourse there is a real good chance a pregnancy could happen. You do not need a sex education class to tell you that.

Folks have cell phones now that will show them. I'm not falling for the "oh lord I didn't know going raw could make a baby" game.

Uh... folks definitely need sex education.

Sorry didn't know your gender....at any rate what we need to do is stop babying people and give them the real. That's across the board. This woman wasn't screaming for a fiscal need when she was making the kids, now she wants us (the tax payers) to assist in maintaining their fiscal well being. I'm a strong believer in mentoring but you can lead the horse to the water but the horse has to want to drink it and not simply because they are thirsty.

I understand in reference to my gender... I think reality hit her somewhere along the way and she realized that the man or men that had the with were no longer in the picture. She was probably seeking love in all the wrong places (probably due to her father not being her life). Either way it is a travesty and these children will have to pay for something they did not ask for unless someone step in help out.

I am coming from another angle with this. How about we guys not impregnate these type women? Some guys will hit anything for any reason or no reason. Back in my "hit most things days" there was this chick fine as all get out and chocolate who use to follow our group where ever we played in Houston. I found out she could sew so I that was my gateway to get at her. Well, I went to her apartment one evening with the intention of making this a conjugal visit in addition to getting measured for a new outfit. When I got there and saw 3 crumb snatchers come out of the back room it was over for me. Just measure me and let me get on my way. I was not about to possibly add to her family. Just could not do it. We are talking mid 70s and no Cee.....I never considered using a condom.
How about we guys not impregnate these type women? This is the key. You said more than I could ever say in reference to this topic.

Why? To tell them that if A intersects with B there is a good chance you will get C? Come on man. We have to stop enabling.

Nobody is enabling anyone. It's just way more complicated than that.

When some say unprotected sex is a problem in the black community they fail to realize that black people, more than any other race, are more likely to use protection.

But we also gotta realize that folks aren't going to abstain. Folks aren't always going to use condoms. And condoms aren't fail safe.

This behavior isn't unique to black people. Poor communities, like this woman is from, often lack the rescoures to aid in healthy sexual practices.

It is NOT more complicated than that. Do you want to know what cooled my heels when I was young and full of beans? My folk told me if I got her pregnant I was going to marry her. By the time I was out on my own and foot loose and fancy free I was very discriminating about who I sexed up....well, until I began playing music professionally...I kind of fell off the wagon. But one thing that helped me too was I never dated women my age. Most of them were wayyyy older than me (me being in my early 20's) and they were not getting pregnant. So even if I was careless they were not.

I think yall are full of it with the idea that people aren't educated enough about sex and about it not being any resources available.

The real crux of the matter is the matter is people using babies as a relationship leverage tactic. There are men and women(sadly boys and girls too) that actually use the act of producing a child with someone as a means of manipulating a relationship with someone.

Back to the topic, Me and my wife have two and this is it. I am getting snipped later on this year.

Don't forget they also used it as a way to not have to work. I know. My sister (rest her soul) did. And it was strange because when she wanted to work she never had a problem finding a job....never. Worked in the records department for HPD until she decided she did not want to work anymore.

If it's full of crock, why do towns that lose a Planned Parenthood, or similar services, see dramatic increases in pregnancies and STDs?

The problem is you're talking about teenagers. I'm talking about 28-55 year old grown black people. Who at the age the ages 28-55 need sex education classes? Even a mental retarded person at that age knows hard dick and wet pussy creates children.

You do know condoms are free at the health unit right.

I know, but my nephew know they free too, but his mentality still caused him to make babies with 3 baby mommas, tried working with him but when he got back from Germany and got out the military he started wildin out, we need to do better.

.Who at the age the ages 28-55 need sex education classes?.

People who think just using condoms is all that is needed for birth control.

Condoms are only a barrier method. Birth control is more than condoms, and aren't as beneficial as IUDs or hormonal birth control.

They are but I always get grief from women when I say this. Sex (normal sex not the porn stuff lol) takes two people. People (mostly women) are quick to say "Why can't guys learn to use condoms?". Well damn if he doesn't have a condom you can have some just in case or you can actually use some type of birth control. It's a two way street

Of all the people that I have associated with for a considerable amount of time (HS, college, work) only me and my buddy from college made it past 30 without kids. I said if we don't have kids by 30, we need to get married lol. Well she got married (not to me) and had her first child a few years ago (probably her only one). I still don't have any. All it took was one scare after a wild night at Alcorn for me to get back on the condom train (even though we started with condoms lol). I like my freedom and sleep. Kids aren't in the picture and I think after a while I might have to do what my frat told me to do. Make sure her kids are grown and out of the house before settling down

lots of people apparently. there's a whole political party that talks about a woman's right to choose. I guess they haven't realized that when you decide to have sex you've made a choice about dealing with the potential consequences of that choice.

Your an educated guy. Let's do some math. Condoms have a ninety percent chance of preventing diseases. It also has a ninety percent chance of preventing pregnancy. Using a penis inside of a wet coochie with no protection has a 100 percent chance of pregnancy and diseases. Now which percentage would you take?

I feel you....I have a cousin who had 6 kids with 5 different women before he was 20. All 5 women were friends. I visited him once and 3 of the mothers were at his house. One started whispering to the others as I walked. Later my cousin's mom called me on the phone and said that the girls though I would make a cute baby and that I needed to leave. I quickly left.

I described what they were doing as a pregnancy pact. All their kids are related so they felt it made them feel like sisters.

I have a cousin with 18 kids by 6 different women over in Olive Branch, Ms. All the chicks hang out......

Trust they do break!!!

Rolling stones come a dime a dozen in smaller communities. Man it was at least 10 in my little town and my cousin one of the new ones..

I was talking to my wife about this and we came to the conclusion that men having all these babies with women in small communities has contributed to a number of kids withe genetic disorders....i.e. special needs, learning, etc... The reason is the when the kids grow up and they bone their sibling and don't know it well....you get that outcome. She has cousins who are double and triple cousins. My wife has a cousin who's grandfather is also her cousin. Some people are cousins on both side of the the family. A triple cousin now that threw me for a loop; basically my wife's second cousin is related to her own mom and dad (not just as a child but as cousins).

Kendrick, I'm not talking about the places with absolutely no access to any form of planned parenthood and poverty, and even without access to protection the choice of who you are creating children with is still a conscious choice. In this thread I think we're talking about places where people have access to everything and the knowledge of what they are doing and still do it.

I have an uncle who has 19 children(that we know of), and the women who he had children with have multiple children with guys like my uncle. There's no one to blame except the people who made these kids, but our family and the kids themselves have been trying to pick up the pieces for years. There is no system that is responsible for their situation. They are 100% culpable for their actions.

That's a valid point. So many times society wants to blame various policies but these policies didn't tell a woman and man to procreate when they ain't got a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out.
