Sarg, there are NO traffic jams like the traffic going over that bridge to slumford stadium. Memorial has at least four major entrances to the stadium, but su has how many.....two?

That's the least of the problems though. It's mighty interesting that you chose to point this minor fact out. Guess you agree with the other part of the statement, that is the cheating, the bullet ducking and the destruction of the property of visiting fans. This is why people don't like going to the Slumf.

Jag-BR, please don't get me wrong, the su campus has a wonderful tailgating environment, nevertheless if you had to worry about your vehicle being vandalized and your school flags being torn from the car window, would you bother coming to that kind of an environment without some concerns? First of all, how does 900,000 dollars a year sound? Thats the first thing.
Mumford is an inadequate stadium. Its only good for a high school type game. This game is much bigger than that. Like GR said, the people of SU love to travel to a place where its all about everything that surrounds the event.

Heyal no! I'm not even for playing JSU every year after the 7 game mandate goes into effect.

1. theres nothing to do in Jackson except go to the game. After the game- no nightlife, only a few good restaurants that are packed.
2. the people in Jackson act like they don't want you there. Horrible service in hotels and restaurants. No hospitality.
3. Tailgating is much better on the yard!
4. The same people that would go to Jackson, would be at Mumford. A true homefield advantage. Why accomodate them because they don't travel.

1. Wrong - obviously you know NO ONE from Jackson to show you where things are.
2. OH, and you guys open up with welcoming arms when we come to BR? that was a DUMB statement, almost self smack. There's plent of hospitality
3. Tailgating IS NOT better on that campus than at the Vet. A LOT of SU people would probably agree. #1 there's more room
4. We WOULD travel more if we knew we wouldn't get shot at and robbed and vandalized down there and get more than a corner in the stadium

Make sure you think before you respond next time Jugg, that made NO SENSE. Except for the true homefield advantage part.

It's far from Shady, you act as though we should give you 10,000 tickets for our home game. I was at Michigan for 6 years, in a stadium that seats over 110,000, visiting teams were usually alloted 1500 tickets. And last I checked, tickets for any Southern home game are available at Ticketmaster, and have been so for months.

2nd time: I got on campus 4 hours before the game and couldn't buy a ticket for a game that was not sold out. I was also cursed out by a su fan when I asked about the ticket booth. I came in with the boom and set in the endzone with about 25 other people.

3rd time: Me and my family was cursed out as we walked to the gate and we were fenced in the endzone when someone started shooting.

I will not be back.

First, 3 out of 15 possible matchups you went to.

One of those, you got here 1 hour early .... was the stadium packed where you had to sit on steps. I would assume so since the next time you came, you came 4 hours early.

You say you couldn't buy a ticket ....(I find that hard to believe with the activity center sitting in the middle of everything and with the booth being downstairs for the longest time before they moved on Scenic and got into the regular basketball tix booths on the Activity Center outside concourse). You were cursed by an SU fan. Did you ask another? I mean, I was flipped off by a fine JSU honey because I asked a question in 2003 and I moved on to the next one .... I just assumed she was ignorant and didn't know. Then, you snuck in with the band? That doesn't say much for your creditability, but that's not the issue here.

The last one, well, stupid people are everywhere and I will never deny that we have our bunch.

Now, at least you gave some valid reasons for not wanting to come to Mumford, but several of these issues have happened to me at Memorial and I just assume that stupid people made their way to Jackson as well.

But, that sure as hell ain't no reason for us to give up a home game to JSU. (finally getting back on topic)

BUY A TICKET AT TICKETMASTER. Why are yall waiting for what JSU gets a week or 2 before the game. Once your ticket office gets the tickets, some of them have already been allocated to special JSU folks anyway. The rest they sell. You think them white folks at LSU wait until LSU gets their allotment for an away game? Hell naw. They seek out tickets by any means necessary.

The SU and JSU game tickets are on sale right now online. Aint no reason any JSU or SU fan for that matter has to wait until the week of the game.

Ohio State plays here in a couple of weeks. Do you think Columbus Oh fans are waiting on the U of Minnesota to send them tickets. Hell naw. They have flooded ticketmaster, alumni chapters in the city the game is being played for tickets. Otherwise you will get BS tickets. I don't know why folks complain about SU practices. It is the same that every school does. It aint our fault folks have seats left or their stadium is a 1A sized stadium instead of a 1-AA sized one like ours is.

Why would you wait until the day of the game for a ticket to a JSU and SU game in Mumford? How do know it was not sold out? Maybe folks had tickets for the seats that were empty. You do know people miss games. I have season tickets to the Vikings and my seats will be empty if I am out of town or didn't sell or give them away. But still say sold out. Now the other stuff is different. If folks were rude and crude then I can understand. But this ticket thing at the last minute is beyond me.

That's like going to a Prince concert on the day of it and think you will get a ticket from the ticket office. LOL

All GR is saying is LISTEN to what the man is saying and have pride in trying to do better. And one more thing. Just cause white folks act like animals that dont give us an excuse to do the same. You know that if a fight happens at LSU its like a tree falling in the woods, we will never know about it. But when an incident happens on one of our campuses its on CNN. GR was at a "white" football game this weekend and there were at least 3 fights in the stands, but you never hear about it from the media. But let one of those folks acting a fool be black and they might stop selling beer.

Personally, GR dont care. GR from the hood. GR can get down however you want to get down with the best of them. The problem is everybody aint GR. There are some people out there that bring their families and just want to come to a game, cheer for their team, support their school, and have a good time with their family. Everybody does not want to fight their way into the stadium and then fight their way out. But if you take pride in this kinda activity, more power to you.

This is the reason this game should be moved to Jackson every year. Its a better family and college atomosphere. As black people we need to stop subjecting our kids to what goes on in BR. Our kids grow up thinking that how they are suppose to act and they continue that animalistic behavior. Let me clean this up by saying its not all the folks in BR, but you only need a few clowns to mess it up for everybody.
