"Leader of Kings"
I watch it via a great DVD copy provided through a friend of mines out in Cali.

It really shows that Will Smith is striving to be one of the best actor that has ever been on the big screen.

:( I lost my malco theatre gift card my co-worker gave me last week. :( Now, I guess I'll have to spend my ducketts & go on tomorrow. I'll take my sister since I promised her she could go w/me. MATINEE!!! I simply must see this movie.

Our pastor took it upon himself to tell everybody about the movie (including the ending) at church last Sunday! I ain't never seen a room full of folks that mad. Everybody was looking like, "This just came out Friday, at least wait one month and give everybody a chance to see it!". I'm not looking forward to seeing it now.

:emlaugh: I would have raise my index finger and ask the church to beg my pardon, while letting the Pastor know that under no uncertain terms did I care to hear the ending and than excused myself.

Not trying to be funny, but your pastor couldn't read folks' faces out in the audience and tell that they didn't want to know the details of the movie. :xeye:
I'm not a pastor, but whenever I use to do announcements at church--- it was sooooo easy to see and read folks' faces when you're talking to them from the pulpit.

I can relate to the Pastor though. He was over anxious. Sometimes a Preacher may not have an illustration to support his point. He goes to the movies and bam! He could told his wife, baby I got it now. This movie is perfect. Wait till I preach tomorrow and breakdown this movie. It's on now!

You could hear moaning and groaning in the congregation. Everybody was saying, "Naw! Naw, Pastor.....don't do it!". I wanted to cover my ears, or just walk out, but by that time, church was ending and he walked out into the aisles....right in front of me. I was trapped. If he would've still been in the pulpit I woulda ran outta there! LOL!

Saw it this weekend and loved it. It's good to see Will Smith redeem himself. I thought Hancock was garbage. And I wasn't that big on I Am Legend, either.

I saw it last weekend. I was groaning thinking this film needs to get to moving or something...then I'm crying like a 2 YO at the end. I mean boo hooing. Folks was sniffing behind me too. Go figure.Slow but does show growth on Will Smith's part. He's moving from the funny, jocking, jiggy, rapper trying to be an actor to an actor. No more Bad Boys. Lately all of his films have been meaningful and heartfelt:

Pursuit of Happyness
I Am Legend
7 Pounds
Hancock- promoted wrong for what their message was.

Ok, I still haven't seen the movie but I did read the plot on wikipedia. Now I can really feel with that Pastor was trying to do. There are spiritual messages all throughout this movie. I will check it out when I get chance.

LOL! Sounds like you were worser than my fiance. I kept handing her napkins in the last 30 minutes or so. And especially during that Woody Harrelson scene.

Yeah, the movie went well with his sermon, but he didn't have to tell the movie. Even Will Smith has been tight-lipped about it while promoting the movie.

OK...am I the only one that can't tell what the movie is about by the commercial?

I think the commercials does give the plot away, I picked up on it to a extent. I just thought that someone was suppose to do to him what he did to himself.

I think I did snooze off a few times during the first 30 minutes. Not sleeping but one of those blink your eyes for a few second sleeps.

Hancock had a messege?

You should have heard the theater at the end, so much crying and sniffling. Almost reminded me of the Color Purple with everyone boo hooing.....
