SEC the Top 4 Teams in the Playoffs

What if this happens:

An SEC Team goes undefeated and after the SEC Championship you have 3 SEC teams with 1 Loss (to an SEC Team).

Should they all compete in the playoffs....

I should have typed it like this in the first damn place...:emlaugh:

Say
Georgia 1 Loss(losing the SEC Championship)
Florida 1 loss to Georgia
Alabama perfect record winning the SEC Championship
LSU 1 loss to Alabama

How can LSU lose to Bama in the SEC championship. Both are in the West. If Bama goes undefeated they win the West and will play UGA or whomever the East sends.

If UGA is undefeated going into the SEC title game as well and it is a close game like it was before. Then I can see 2 SEC teams getting to the playoffs if the Big 12 or the Pac 12 have teams with 2 losses. Fla State will probably walk through the ACC.

This is a REALLY stupid topic but I will bite...

Dude the SEC is going to be lucky to get ONE team in... Unless they totally collapse, FSU is in... but lets not forget that Notre Dame can get in too! If FSU and Notre Dame get in, the SEC better not beat each other up. None of them look particularly strong right now. You have teams like Oregon, Oklahoma and USC who could keep the SEC out of it all together!

You all forget that Louisville is in the ACC.
FSU won't be walking thru the ACC tho. They should get past Clemson because they are simply ahead of Clemson right now... but they also have to play Louisville and Notre Dome and Miami. The only way they see VaTech is is in the Championship game.
 
Mathematically IMPOSSIBLE unless you are sending three 2 loss SEC West teams to the playoff plus an undefeated Alabama. Your scenario stated Bama going undefeated.... that automatically gives LSU/A&M/Auburn 1 loss each. Then you can divide an extra loss each among the remaining three...... NO WAY in hell they send a 2 loss SEC team to the playoffs let alone three 2 loss teams.

The SEC Champion is automatically in the final 4, now if UGA wins the Championship and the SEC West only lost is to UGA in the SEC Championship, than I can see 2 SEC teams in the final 4 with Oklahoma and Oregon, if Stanford or USC don't keep them out. Florida State will lose more than 2 games this season.

It was a little off but LSU would still only have one loss. If Bama or any other SEC goes into the Championship game undefeated, they are getting two teams if the undefeated team loses. USC will lose a game or two but I think them or a one loss Big 12 team (Oklahoma or Baylor) will get in over any Big 10 team with 1-2 losses. FSU, Va Tech or Clem has to be the ACC team that wins if they want an ACC representative to keep the Big 10 out and a 1 loss SEC team like LSU, Georgia or Florida out.

This is why it will be expanded to 8 games within 5 years.

There is no way they will allow an SEC team not in the championship game in if the 2 participants are undefeated. Both of those teams would get in, then the ACC champ (if they have 1 loss or less), and either Oregon or Oklahoma if neither has more than 1 loss.
 
Before long, the other five conferences (Mountain West, Sun Belt, MAC, American and Conference USA) will sue for access to the championship and the money...

Just do what Death to the BCS says and go with 16 teams with the 10 FBS conference champs getting automatic bids and six at-large bids (and not give Notre Dame an automatic in, let them fuggers earn an at-large spot)...you can determine seeding WITHOUT a selection committee...

oh and BTW, GET RID OF THAT SELECTION COMMITTEE, especially when you have currently sitting athletic directors on that committee with a team that likely could be in that playoff running down to the field to complain a call.

That's one of the major things wrong with the committee format. At least the computers didn't show emotion or have personal bias.

And no doubt down the road those other conferences will sue (and probably win) because everyone can see it's wrong and a money grab by the big schools. Plus when you got schools in the MAC consistently beating P5 schools that just adds more fuel to the fire

The NCAA basketball tourney uses a similarly constructed committee.

Also, computers are programmed by people.
