Re: Check out the hurdles, the slick moves, the cuts...

Since he's a Houston product (Cypress Fairbanks) everyone in Texas knows about him. This being his senior season coming up, many Aggies (Texas A&M) think they have the upper hand on signing him but I'm told by a fellow Cy-Fair graduate and NFL executive that Ohio State is tops on his list. This kid is amazing!

Re: Check out the hurdles, the slick moves, the cuts...

Also forgot to mention that he's one helluva triple jumper and one of the games he hurdled a DB he had 6 touchdowns in the first half before he was benched.

Re: Check out the hurdles, the slick moves, the cuts...

Everyone was coming to see him play, he runs track also. That school is a couple of miles from my house.

Ohio State huh............hmmmmmm

Re: Check out the hurdles, the slick moves, the cuts...

I saw on another recruiting website that Pete Carrol and Nick Saban was trying to lure away from Texas A&M. This should be very interesting. I've seen all those highlights and the kid is just the truth.

Re: Check out the hurdles, the slick moves, the cuts...

You do know he's ..... right?

That he's lighter than you and TBF? :lmao:

This must be the guy one of my Buckeye partners was talking about in the Spring. He kept telling me that some white guy in Texas that was real fast like an OSU WR named Doug Donley who nicknamed White Lighting. I am just wondering if he would play RB or DB when gets to college. Tressel seems to like those workhorse power backs with speed. Should be interesting. I see Michigan is chasing him too.

Re: Check out the hurdles, the slick moves, the cuts...

Dude is real slick and has some great breakaway speed. I had to watch this one a few times. His vision and patience is great just looking at the cuts that he makes...

Re: Check out the hurdles, the slick moves, the cuts...

Great vision, follows his blocks well, and good speed. Someone should get a good running back.

Re: Check out the hurdles, the slick moves, the cuts...

That kid is NICE.

Check out William Cole (#1) of Cedar Hill, TX. This cat had 2,966 rushing yards and close to 1100 passing and WAS NOT a 1st, 2nd, 3rd team or honarable mention 5A State team member. GO FIGURE???

He signed with Oklahoma State.

Last of all, he didn't start play QB until his senior year after the starting QB went down with an injury in the first game.

Re: Check out the hurdles, the slick moves, the cuts...

I had read about McGuffie a while back and it did say that he has a bit of an arrogant attitude that rubbed some people the wrong way.

Re: Check out the hurdles, the slick moves, the cuts...

From what I hear (from my underground sources) he's cocky in a good way and very cool with it. He's not camera shy, so he'll come off as very brass.

On one of his interviews last fall he said he's not playing football in Texas...and, he's not trying to play anywhere but the backfield. So, Def. Back might be out of the question. Well, as far as he's concerned.

:)

Re: Check out the hurdles, the slick moves, the cuts...

Talented dude but he better lose the hurdling or be very selective w/it. There's some LB and FS on the next level that'll plant him if/when he tries it. Those defenses on the vid look suspect too or maybe he just made them look that way. Out of position, bad angles, "reach" attempt tackles....not going to get it done on any level.

Sam McGuffie will trade in Cy-Fair maroon and white for the maize and blue of Michigan in 2008.

The soon-to-be-senior running back, who is one of the most coveted recruits in the nation, committed to play for the Wolverines on Sunday. He announced his intentions on KPRC's Sports Sunday program.

"The coaches there recruited me (hard), especially coach (Fred) Jackson, the running backs coach," McGuffie said. "They told me that if I go there that we'll be a team to be reckoned with."

McGuffie had 50 offers, according to Rivals.com. He chose Michigan over Texas A&M, USC, Florida and Notre Dame, his other finalists.

As a junior, the 6-0, 190-pound McGuffie rushed for 3,121 yards and 43 touchdowns and became known nationwide for an Internet video clip in which he hurdled a defensive back in a game last season. The clip has received more than 500,000 hits on YouTube.

McGuffie, the No.1 all-purpose back in the nation according to Rivals, said playing time also factored into his decision.

Makes sense. Mike Hart is a Sr this year. I see Baton Rouge native and JSU alum Fred Jackson helped pull in this oral committment.

This is great. Kevin Grady will be the starter when Mike Hart graduates. Grady graduates in 2009 and McGuffie could step right in. Go BIG BLUE!!!

Re: Cy Fair's RB McGuffie Chooses Michigan

This is the second time in three-years the leading rusher from the Houston area and at Cy-Fair decided to attend a Big 10 school. One was a freshman in 2006 at Northwestern.
