I guess it's like a new car smell or something because what he is doing is being done at the remaining 9 SWAC schools except no one is reporting on 5 a.m. workouts. Being 10 minutes early, people screaming at you...this is hilarious
Hell..we practiced at 4 a.m. at PV in 2003 and see where that got us..

i think his methods so far are a breath of fresh air.
you have a point tbf it has to translate to wins on the field, or its all for not; however installing disipline, and good work ethics are good things, and they are often good building blocks to re-establishing a program

but I been to all of them in the offseason....discipline and offseason workouts are the norm...I recall a post and an article about how good and disciplined Zeus' program was when Pete was there

We are Southern University. With the things that are in place, Stump will be SUcessful. Plus the old feet had developed fungi :lol: .
Similar thought crossed my mind also but it's been less than a week.

He talked about Chinyoung reminding him of a couple NFL OL he has seen.
I think it is too early to read in to what he is saying to players.
Yall have to remember we lost our way over the years. Hell the TxSU game is a perfect example of not being focused and paying attention to detail. Our coaches slipped which translated to the players.
There are 3 former Pete coaches on this staff and 2 of them played for Pete. I am sure Dooley, Joseph, and Fredrick have all told Stump the deal with attitudes and what not. Not to mention Zeus is still there as well. Pete was the same way when he first arrived. He wasn't playing. I don't know if he mellowed because he got older or just tired and worn out. That SU coaching staff in the 90s was just as hard as Stump is coming in now. Folks tend to forget that. A lot of SU's problem on the field was because we made too many mental mistakes and we were pushed around because we didn't make enough of an effort in the off season and in practice. I just think dude is restoring some pride and work ethic that was lost.

If I went to TxSU and transferred to SU.... You would be able to tell I have a spot in my heaert for TxSU...
