I don't understand why they even considered it with the opening of the expanded Mumford stadium in the fall.

Simple....they loves them some Jackson. No guns, no shootings....just down-home tailgating in a safe environment. Who wouldn't want that?

seating capacity is the reason why. they feel that since jsu fans dont travel we can pay the stadium organization a fee...then get the full gate and concessions.. meaning a larger profit. i can understand it..but its like why move the biggest home game away (next to homecoming) when we just added. a real good question is would we charge the tickets prices like in baton rouge (min of 28 dollars) or the standard for memorial 20 dollars.

basically tony clayton is saying 68,000 times whateva ticket prices are for the game will be more cash than having the game at mumford. the larger profit is what HE and he alone is trying to get. i understand that ...especially with so many schools working in the red, its smart to get the bigger payday.

JR, please explain Tony comment.

Dude, SU will NOT get full fees. JSU gets a share from every event at the stadium.
As far as JSU fans travelling, why is it that your stadium sells out when JSU comes to town, not to mention only the 1,000 tickets sent to our ticket office, not to mention the hostile environment.

And the standard ticket prices at Memorial is not 20 dollars. You need to rewrite your entire posts cause it's full of errors. No need to ask MD about that. I just told you.

ok jayrob whats the standard ticket for memorial?
and yes jsu doesnt travel well to baton rouge..thats a fact.

Is ticketmaster shut down during SU vs jsu week? Do ya'll have access to the internet in Jackson? Just askin.....

That's not the point. Most folks don't want to go through the hassle of that and to be frank, the environment in Scotlandville is not all that appealing, if you know what I mean. Even some of the SU fans don't attend that game, and would rather the game be played in Jackson.

This sucks! JayRob knows less than you know about the aforementioned topic of SU potentially playing in Jackson's Memorial Stadium in 2009.

JayRob, if you are a true black Mississiappian who also happens to be from JSU, instead of you perpetuating more of your Willie Lynch Syndrome psychology. You may want to find out want "The Man" is doing with someone other than your school and communicate the facts that you find out to both the JSU and the SU supporters. Knowing "The Man" in MS, I wouldn't be shocked if the deal isn't good for either school and I can see it as something that we could allow the "The Man" to pit ourselves against each other regarding our recognition of it after the fact. And that would be a shame on both JSU and SU to allow "The Man" to place a wedge between us and damage one of the best athletic rivalries in the nation.

This one isn't to be played with. We both need to be serious about what is happening here and keep it real. If it is a great deal, let's make it such. I just don't trust it. Nothing about it makes sense for "The Man" to cut this deal with us.

Peace...

Somebody translate this, please?

Tony Clayton is our Board Chair. He finally made it to that point after wanting it for so long. Now he thinks he can whatever he wants. His day is coming. Folks in BR aint happy with his ideas. He is the one who once said LSU should give SU a football game. You have to know Tony to understand his madness. Even then....he doesn't make sense.:upset::shame:

Dude, some things can be blamed on "the man" and some things can't. Isn't your AD Black? Isn't your Board majority Black? Did "the man" force SU officials to change it's location?

Come on dude, "the man" is guilty of a lot of things, however this issue doesn't seem to be one of them.
Besides, the city of Jackson is 80 percent Black, so the money folks spend in and around the Jackson area will benefit a lot of Black folks.

Sounds like an SU problem to me, instead of "the man's" problem.

Dude, yall only send us 1,000 tickets to begin with.

The ticket prices are 25, 40 and 50 dollars.

Dude, every JSU fan can go to ticketmaster and get their damn ticket way before SU even sends you an allotment. That is an excuse. If JSU fans wanted too....they could buy as many tickets they want at ticketmaster when all tickets go on sale in the late summer. How do you think I get my ticket to the game sometimes.

You act like everybody who is a JSU fan has to walk up to JSU campus to get whatever allotment any school sends them. Does Grambling send yall an allotment of more than 2-3 K? What about PV, what about TxSU or AAMU or Bama State?

Duh......no isht Sherlock. Tell us something we don't know. Just like Mason or Braddy is a JSU problem if they do something yall don't like. :retard:

But what your uninformed arse don't know is our board members are Gov. Appointments once they have been nominated and submitted for approval. Aint like SU alums can control what the Gov does.

Dude, ticketmaster is not the only reason I said that JSU folks don't attend the the game in Baton Rouge.

Now see.:shame:
This flaw is so big it's in the lie category.
Why in the heck would 10,000 to 15,000 JSU fan travel to Mudford when we know we won't have but 2,000 seat's to split between us.

I don't go to Mudford because of that.
Why go through all that trouble just to sit in a parking lot.

Why yall even entertain this dude.. he thinks every board on here is a "SMACK BOARD".....Like JR said...It ain't nothing but excuses.. I get my tickets from Ticketmaster sometimes...
If JSU fans really cared and believed in thier football team they would SHOW up. Last good showing JSU had was in 96 and 98... When they had a bit more faith in the program.. Honestly I think they should be more loyal and support their team in down years or not so good years as well...Andthing else is that "black man mentality"..
