I said moving the ball.....not scoring.

Your offense sucks...always has...always will

You have no talent....PERIOD

I'll try to remember that, ok? I'll make a note of it and take a picture of it, too.

Thanks for telling me that, Bruh! I really appreciate you telling me that. I thought we had some talent.....

No one in the SWAC can beat jsu, right? I know how it goes. I've heard it all before.....

Maybe someone in the SWAC can.....but it shole aint your remedial school.

Stay in your PV league before you approach your master.

And Gram4what

Counslor did play about 3 plays. So they game did count. Since you are so apt at looking at stats, you will see that he has been charged with 5 games. Come on statman...get it right....for a change.

I never said he didn't play. You made the comment that he sat out. All I said was that if he didn't play then it wouldn't be counted in the stats. Now, if you made the mistake by saying it then that's your fault. No matter how many times he carried the ball, he played. So it's counted... I guess you need to get something right for a change. Stop saying things and trying to recount on them. You are the only one sounding stupid.

Sheeeeeeeesh

This is getting tired. People reading what they want to read and comprehending what they want to comprehend. Its really starting to work on my nerves. CAn the 26th and 9th get here any faster? We can settle this crap.

Gram4what....

I cant wait to visit Memorial West.....I just cant wait.

My point is there is not one back in the leauge within 35 to 40 of 100 yards/game average. With teams passing soo much and scores being so high, the yards that the backs do pick up are meaningless yards. Not to mention, there is no defense.

Last year and two years ago, the SWAC had 4 or 5 packs averaging 100+ yards/game. Teams have changed their game plan to a wide open attack and have lost the need to be able to run the ball.

JSU, just like all other teams, has to be included in the list.

Historically speaking, the SWAC has always been a pass happy conference.

To this day Gram only has had a hand full of rushers that have rushed for over a 1000 yards in one season. Brad Hill (last year) was the first person to rush for a 1000 yards in quite some time at Grambling.

SOG,
That is not true. Only a few years ago you had the RB at Valley, Destry at JSU, Lewis, Wofford and Melvin Williams at SU, Sieh and Bradley at TXSU and Pine Bluff had some good backs. AAMU had this one guy a few years ago that could run. So I agree with Sperm. This conference is becoming more pass oriented the last 5-8 years. And it is getting worse.

BTW, historically speaking the SWAC as a conference always had some star backs. JSU was RB U way before being WR-U. Gorden was a run first pass second coach and before him Bob Hill only threw when he had too. Alcorn under Casem always kept a good RB. Even your alma matter always was balanced. GSU probably was the best passing team in the 70's in the SWAC, but everybody else ran the ball. Hell JSU had 2 RBs go over 1000 yds. Remember Jeffrey Moore and Perry Harrington? Even Bynum at Valley ran for a 1000 yds during the Gunslingler days.

There are some talented backs in the SWAC, but since most teams like to pass you don't get these 100 yd games to much. Counselor is a good back who could rush for a 100 yds a game. But JSU does not give him the ball 20-25 times a game every game. Right now he is probably the best Rb at least one with break away speed. Hopefully SU uses our big backs to their potential and run it more. Peoples and Newman have talent, but it is hard when you are playing catchup like we have had to do. I can't speak for any of the other Rbs since I have only seen Counselor and ours. Alcorn seems to have a running game. It really just depends on your OC and what his style is. Everybody wants to pass first, run second.

WIDE RECEIVER U.....WILL THAT BAD JOKE EVER STOP.

AS much as you might not want to admit it, it is true. The Following WRs have played in the NFL since JSU started throwing the ball more. That is not to mention the ones who have been 1000 yd WRs in the SWAC. No doubt they have more success at that position than any other HBCU and even some PWCs. No need to hate on the truth. I would be the first to dispute it if I thought they didn't deserve the title.

Chris Burkett
Jimmy Smith
Tim Barnett
Corey Bradford
Slyvester Morris

Well of course there are exceptions, but the truth of the matter is, the SWAC has historically and traditionaly been a passing confernece. What we are experiencing now is nothing new.

SWAC passing and receiving records are always being updated more frequently than SWAC rushing records.

IF IT IS TRUE THEN IT TRUE. I JUST WANT TO SEE THE LIST. I'M SURE THE LIST IS MORE THAN YOU INDICATED. TO EVEN CONSIDER YOURSELF A HAVEN FOR PRO-CALIBER RECIEVERS YOUR LIST MUST BE ACTUALLY A LIST OF PLAYERS THAT WERE DRAFTED/FREE AGENTS OR PLAYED ON THE TEAM FOR AT LEAST 1 FULL SEASON. I DON'T WANT TO SEE NAMES OF PEOPLE THAT PLAY A GAME OR 2. I AM JUST WAITING TO SEE THIS STELLAR LIST.

Mach,
What are you talking about?!! Man you must do not watch the NFL or know much about it. The simple fact whether the rest of us like it or not. JSU has been putting some WRs. More than the rest of us recently.

Jimmy Smith is an All-Pro

Corey Bradford is a starter for the Texans and has been in the league 4 years at least

Sly Morris was a 1st round pick. He got hurt, but hell so did Jimmy when he first started. But Morris is still with KC.

Tim Barnett played more than a year. He played at least 3-4 years before he got himself in trouble.

Chris Burkett played with the Bills and Jets and played at least 7- 8 years in the NFL.

Obviously TC Taylor, L. Storey and D.Guye were invited to camps the last 2 years and didn't make it. But hell they were invited. Plus you also have to take into consideration that JSU has had many 1000 yd WRs in the past years. More than the rest of us. So they can lay claim to being WR-U in the SWAC and definitely as far as HBCUs and 1-AA are concerned. Now you know if I could dispute that I would.:D
