Baltimore Ravens linebacker Rolando McClain was arrested Sunday in Decatur, Ala., and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

The arrest was reported by WHNT-TV and AL.com, which cited a news release from police.

McClain was released after posting $1,000 bond, AL.com reported.

The Ravens signed McClain to a one-year contract April 12.

honestly its to the point now where I seriously think Decatur police are just fuggin with him.... He ONLY gets in trouble in Decatur. Decatur isnt THAT small to get pulled over every time he comes home.... now the shooting thing... he was responsible for that... but some of the other arrest is just harassment. On one hand, I just say stay away from home... but you cant tell a person to stay away from his family.
 



He needs to learn how to deal with the police. Even if they are targeting you - and some of us have been harassed and targeted by the police - don't give them the opportunity to lock you up by being "disorderly" or "resisting arrest". There are ways of minimizing your chance of getting arrested. He needs to learn them and use them.

I am looking in from the outside. But I would have to agree with you. He just needs not to come home. Ozzie Newsome is giving him a Homeboy/U of Alabama hookup by signing him. He can't have stuff like this showing up. Even the Raiders got tired of it and they used to be a haven for players with troubles. He better get it together before he joins some others out of the league. Dude was the number 8 pick a few years ago. Instead of being at home. He needs to be somewhere getting ready for the upcoming season. Especially since folks also think his play ON the field is suspect as well. He got to do better.

Even if that is the case, with all of his past transgressions, he should know to keep a low profile. He needs to stop hanging with the folks he does when he is home or just comply with the po-po when they ask you to leave an area. Stupid is as stupid does.

Sometimes a person can be so young and immature that they just don't get it...case in point Adam "Pacman" Jones. After he went through all of that, he has pretty much settled down. As far as I know, he is still with the Bengals.


On another note, as a Raider's fan, some of my brethren were so dissapointed with him and could not wait for his release. Give him some time, and I think he could mature and turn out into a decent player for the Ravens....
 
I think Ozzie Newsome will get him straight up there in Raven country.

Ozzie is a Bama native himself who knows Decatur, Ala well..he probably has an idea whats goin on down here
 
Decatur is a special little town. You can easily find trouble and trouble can find you quick over there. I remember back in the late 80's early 90's, Huntsville and Decatur cats didn't get along. Don't know if that still holds true. Out of the loop now.

still dont... Decatur is a lil rough... I dont like going there... but my wife is from there so I go there alot... she went to school with McClain and stated he has always been a trouble maker. Decatur is the reason I keep a University plate on my car.... If I had a 47 tag and they knew I was from Huntsville... there would probably be trouble. Its actually a nice city that sits on the river... but its some IGNANT Black folks across the track.
 
Man going across them rail road tracks right there when you turn off of 72alt use to be wild. Got in a lot of trouble back in the day. I fish over there a lot, and you run into a lot of thugs. They be smoking weed, drinking liquor and fishing. :lol:

Decatur is mostly white... but the IGGAS across the tracks a different story... Im sure you wont even see them since they just stay in their corner. Overall Decatur is a nice city because it sits on the river... but it aint no Huntsville. Their Black folks and Huntsville Black folks too TOTALLY different breeds. Its about 20 minutes outside of Huntsville.... but if I didnt HAVE to go.... i would only go there to fish.
