Rick Perry says Texas A&M is talking about SEC move

This is true. How soon people forget. A&M used to dominate the LSU series in the 90s when they played. Texas A&M already has the top athletic program in the Big 12 and has more money and resources than any SEC school. They'll compete just fine.

Wow you picked the only period when A&M won more than lost against LSU. LOL The Curley Hallman error.

Kentucky and Florida would still be at the top

Basically lol. Im sitting here trying to find the logic some of these folks are using here but WTF? I dont know nothin about baseball but TAMU would be a middle of the pack SEC team just like they are in the Big 12.. maybe worse. And on top of that if they did join they'd be in the SEC west... bar none the toughest division in all of college football.

aint no logic in it.

Just think, SEC teams win national championships in football, basketball and baseball, but tamu gonna come in and instantly DOMINATE in those sports. :retard::retard:

No one said they'd dominate in football. Show me that.

I said they'd be top tier in basketball (M-W) and baseball, and compete in football. They'd DOMINATE track and field.

with all that money and all those facilities, Tamu has won the big 12 1 time. way back in 1998. 1998. Now some think they could come in the SEC and win it.

:lol::lol:

Coaching, Coaching, and Coaching. All those schools have money and facilities. Some more than others. But having the wrong coach will kill the program. Ask Florida before Spurrier. Ask Alabama in between coaches, same for Auburn, same for Ga, LSU was nothing until Saban showed up and the alums started taking stuff seriously. I remember him ripping LSU on how bad their facilities were. You take Saban and send him to A&M and he would immediately start whooping arse. Just like you take Saban away from Bama and give them Mike Sherman and they would become what Texas A&M is now. LOL. Don't know why folks can't see it is the coaching staff that helps you win since they are the ones who recruit and coach. It ain't the school. So to say A&M can't come into the SEC and win is just as bad as saying they will come in and dominate. Both are a little strong choice of words. They can win in the Big 12 had they hired correctly. I just think their coaching job will be more appealing if they join the SEC. Which opens them up to getting better players. Right now the Texas kids either go to UT or they leave for a LSU or somebody. But let the hat man leave LSU and they hire another Curly Hallman type and they gone be back to struggling to. I am keeping my eye on Florida, because I think Muschamp is overrated. We will see.

Didn't Tamu win a NC in ladies basketball this year? And the SEC aint dominate in men's basketball either. Florida won those back to back titles years ago. And Kentucky keep choking their way out of the title and will continue to as long as Calipari is the coach. Ain't like they are the ACC in basketball. Now women's with Pat Summitt.......yeah. But the SEC aint much better in Men's basketball than the Big 12. Actually in recent years they have been worse than the Big 12.

Kentucky and Florida would still be at the top

Florida aint all that in basketball. They just got back to winning after Donovan had some so so years after the back to back titles and his flirtation with the Orlando Magic job. Aint like they are a top 10 team every year. Hell Texas and Kansas get more run every year than they do.

Well the 90s is when I really started following college football.I don't really remember LSU or A&M being much in football prior to the 90s to be honest. And they didnt play in the 2000s.

LSU wasn't isht in the 80s either Storm. Every so often they would be decent. They just started winning consistently when Saban came. DiNardo who was before Saban could recruit but couldn't coach so he let folks like SU's Michael Hayes get away via transfer. Saban gave LSU some structure and made them walk the talk. A&M had a good run. They were good under cheating Jackie Sherrill and they won under Slocum. Just couldn't get over the hump to be a NC contender. But they were a top 10 team until Mack Brown showed up in Austin and used his charm to recruit. Got to give to ole Mack. He can recruit or at least hired folks who could. UT was so-so with Mackovic who was pissing folks off in Texas and that allowed A&M to recruit well. Once Mack cut off some of those Texas recruits going to A&M the wheels fell off in College Station and Slocum got run off after he started getting his arse whooped by Mack on and off the field. Kids follow trends. For awhile it was cool to go to A&M then it became UT and now some will slip off LSU or some other place. OU has always been able to come into Texas to recruit. But even remember they fell off after the Switzer era and didn't get better until Stoops came along.

They won the SEC twice in the 80s and in another season went 10-1-1 (tied your Buckeyes).

More valid for this conversation is that they went 3-1 against the Aggies.

From 1960 to 1975 LSU was 14-1-1 against Texas A@M.
From 1986 to 1989, LSU was 4-0 against Texas A@M.
From 1990 to 1995, LSU was 1-5 against Texas A@M.
LSU Beat Texas A@M in the 2010 Cotton Bowl.
Mississippi State Beat Texas A@M in the 2000 Independance bowl.

so what has tamu bball dne that makes it so much better than Kentucky?

and if ladies bball and track is the standard for dominating, then I guess tamu would dominate.

JR is knocking Kentucky bball as if tamu bball is better.

btw, when was the last time big bad tamu won the big 12 in basketball? I already posted how it was last century that they won in football?
:scared:

The key word is consistent J4L. They had brief runs not sustained success like they are having now. Which LSU folks should be thankful but they complain like they have won forever. But that's another story. Right before I got to SU, them mofos had either lost every game in the SEC or damn near close. I think Arnsparger had them doing something good before during his time and when he left then ole Archer won the year you are talking about going 10-1-1 and he did good the next season but the wheels came off once Arnsparger players had left and the Hallman error as you call it doomed them and A&M had whooped their arse every year until they stopped playing them. LOL. That Cotton Bowl win last year was the first win in a long time against A&M. I remember folks were pissed off that they passed on Spurrier when he was interested in the job back in the day. Had they done that.......then maybe they would have been better sooner.

You didn't even read my post correctly. I said TAMU women's team won a NC this past year and I said Florida's basketball program aint all that. The only thing I said about Kentucky is that they choked away their chances with Calipari as coach. LOL. Never did you see where I said TAMUs program was better than Kentucky in basketball. I did say the Big 12 is just as good as the SEC in basketball or maybe better. Most of the SEC sucks in basketball.....men that it is.

Who said anything about their bball team being better than Kentucky??? WOW

Nobody said that J4L. MH has selective reading. I slammed Kentucky only as choking with Cal as the coach. No one posted TAMU's basketball program is better than Kentucky's. Where he got that. Who knows. LOL. Now I did say the Big 12 in Men's basketball is better than the SEC to me. Kansas and Texas are always ranked high in the polls. One can argue that Women's basketball is better in the Big 12 than it is in the SEC. Outside of Tenn......now that LSU fell off. The SEC is not as strong. TAMU, Baylor and OU women are all top 10 programs.

We aint talking about Men's basketball. You keep forgetting all the other sports. You can't do that. I do know TAMU's Lady Aggies are the NCAA Champs. They would add to the SEC with TENN. The SEC folks are looking at the total package A&M bring. Their baseball team finished number 6 in the nation and they were in the CWS with those SEC schools too. Don't know why yall are so hard on TAMU like they have a scrub athletic program. I don't even like them mofos. But they aint bad as some of the current SEC schools total athletic programs. WTF do Ms State and Ole Piss bring to the SEC across the board? Outside of basketball, what does Kentucky bring? What is Arkansas doing outside of being decent in football and track?

In basketball, the Big 12 from top to bottom is much better than the SEC. Kansas, Texas, K-State, Baylor, A&M, OK-State are all better than the rest of the SEC outside of UF and UK.

This discussion is pointless lol. TAMU would be average in the SEC just like they are in the Big 12. That's pretty much that. Texas will still get all of the good recruits and I wouldnt be surprised if TCU even out recruits them. None of that will change just because they join the SEC. They will be another Ole Miss in the conference.

If advancing to the final four the year after losing 4 players early to the NBA is choking, then what do you call tamu? What has their bball done that makes you think its at that level? An SEC team has won the last 5 national titles in football, what has tamu done that makes you think its at that level? An SEC team has won the last 3 college world series, the last one with 2 SEC teams playing each other for the title. What has tamu done that makes you think it comes in dominating there?
