Cleveland newspaper reports Democrat's death


EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones died at a Cleveland hospital Wednesday after suffering a brain aneurysm, according to The Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Tubbs Jones, 58, was taken to the Cleveland Clinic's Huron Hospital in East Cleveland late Tuesday, said hospital spokeswoman Joyce Persuad.

They just reported that she's not dead but in critical condition.

Right. I just watched this on CNN. Don Lemon reported she was dead, but they came back and corrected it.

Ohio congresswoman Tubbs Jones hospitalized

(CNN) -- Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones of Ohio, a Democratic superdelegate and one of Hillary Clinton's most ardent supporters, was hospitalized in critical condition Wednesday after suffering an aneurysm, the hospital said.


Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, D-Ohio, suffered an aneurysm Tuesday evening.

Dr. Gus Kious, chief of staff at Huron Hospital in East Cleveland, Ohio, said that Tubbs Jones had "very limited brain function" and that the aneurysm is in "an inaccessible part of her brain."

"She remains in critical condition at present in our intensive care unit. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this very difficult time," Kious said.

Earlier reports had said Tubbs Jones had died.

This women was like a mentor to me. She was always right on time with her advice. And once she gave her word you knew she would follow-up and do what she said. She was one of a kind!

I am so hurt right now :( :( :(

I met her in March this year at the Jack and Jill Legislative Summit. She was very engaging and inspiring.

Praying for her son, family, constituents, friends and colleagues. :smh:

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) _ Tributes from political allies and even one-time enemies came pouring in for Democratic U.S. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones, a trailblazer whose energy and outspokenness made her one of Congress' most dynamic leaders.

Tubbs Jones, the first black woman to represent Ohio in Congress, died Wednesday evening after suffering a brain hemorrhage caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She was 58.
