Record Predictions

Lets start with AAMU and Alcorn.

AAMU: Sure losses =Auburn, FAMU, Jackson State, Alabama State, Austin Peay
Possible losses: BCU
I think they can pull off Grambling and Valley but dont be surprised if those are Ls so I will call that a split.

So I have them at 5-7. 7-5 could be possible tho.

Alcorn: Sure losses = Vandy, UAB, Jackson State, Alabama State, Grambling, PV.
Possible Losses: McNeese, MS Valley

I think PV will be the best team in the West. I don't think GSU will be that good BUT they have a decent QB and they are a house of horrors for JSU and Alcorn at the hole. I don't think Alabama State will be as good as most believe either but they are a grimy team and I think Alcorn takes a step back without Big Mac. For McNeese and Valley, I think Alcorn SHOULD win both games but both games will be on the road and let's not forget, Alcorn really doesn't have a QB and they lost their best players on offense and didn't replace them. When it comes to JSU, they will play us hard but I don't think they will have the talent to match up.

I have them also at 5-7 splitting with McNeese and Valley. 6-6 is possible tho especially if they can pull it off at Grambling.

I will go ahead and get UAPB out of the way too and just give them benefit of the doubt that they will beat Arkansas Baptist.

I have the Golden Lions at 1-11. When you have a preacher-man as a coach, it aint good.

Alabama State: Losses = Samford, PV, Jackson State
Possible Losses: FAMU, BCU, NCCU, Grambling

This one is tough because there are lot of unknowns about AlaState. Samford, JSU and PV should be Ls but it's not outside the realm of possibility for them to beat all three IF they have an above average team. I have them beating NCCU to start the season. I dont think NCCU is a good team without Richard and GSU is tough at home. BUT that's the old GSU and Im not sure if that GSU even exists anymore. BCU is a trap game for every top school in the conference. AlaState could go anywhere from 12-0 (if they take that next step) to 5-7 (not so good). I just cant see them taking the next step just yet so I will give them 7-5/8-4 with them beating 2 or 3 of the possible loss teams.

Grambling: Losses =ULL, Jackson State, BCU, AAMU, AlaState, PV
Possible Losses = TAMU-Commerce and Southern

As with most SWAC teams, GSU has a lot of unknowns but having said that, they are systematically trailing JSU, BCU, AAMU and AlaState. They will not have the firepower to beat either team and we all know ULL is a straight ahh-whoopin. TAMU-Commerce is not a good team and SUx is destined to be a 2024 bottom feeder but I can see GSU losing both if they dont bring their A game. The West will be so bad that GSU is destined to be the 2nd best team in the division.

I have GSU from 5-7/ 6-6 with a split of the two probable losses. They could have kept Hue Jackson for this.

This my favorite ranking LOL

Southern: Losses = Jackson State, PV, Nicholls, Alcorn, FAMU, AAMU, BCU
Possible Losses: Grambling State

Im going to try my best to be nice to SU here but this is going to be a tough year. They start out vs McNeese and Savannah State. Im not sure SU can beat either tbh but they are both pretty bad so I will give SU benefit of the doubt here. I really dont know what to expect from TxSo so I will also give them benefit of the doubt there and vs UAPB. The GSU game could go either way.

I have SU at 4-8/5-7. To be honest 0-12 wouldnt surprise me.

Valley: Let's keep is simple! 1-11 thanks to UAPB.

I honestly have no clue. Without an offensive identity, 5 losses. With help from the offense, 3 to 4 losses

Lol. I mean those Jags were 5-5 last year. I got them be@ting aamu and bcu though. I got them 6-6 for now.

I knew where this thread was going before even opening it. SMACK's greatest hits will have a new one shortly.. lol

I'm waiting for TP's JSU prediction. If my math is correct, I see JSU at 12-0 unless you have them losing to ULM.

BCU: Losses= South Florida, Mercer, Western Michigan
Possible Losses = AlaState, AAMU, Jackson State, FAMU

BCU is a tricky one. They recruit well and this will be year two for their HC. BCU is a wildcard in the SWAC but they get JSU and BAMA State at home. I predict this to be a tough road game for both. FAMU has owned them lately but with an expected drop off with FAMU (stay tuned), this one could go down to the wire, especially in a season-ending rivalry game. I believe they are HC for AAMU and this could be an intriguing matchup. I honestly think they can handle the rest of their schedule but Im not ready to label them is a top team just yet. Since the Wildcats are my Wildcard pick, I am going to go out on a limb and give them 7-5. I think they will lose some they should win and win some they should lose.

Prairie View: Losses = Michigan State, Incarnate Word
Possible Losses= FAMU, Alabama State

I have PV going 8-4 overall. I have FAMU as a possible loss BUT think they gonna beat the #^%^ out them ppl. I think they beat AlaState as well but we all know that PV gone PV. At the very least, expect a split with FAMU/AlaState and then they will suffer their yearly upset. They will win the WEST by default...again.

I cant see them going on the road and beating Maynor. I dont see them beating BCU either. What they gonna win with? Had they kept Dooley, I might have them at a solid 7-5.

They be@t both last year with pretty much the same team they are bringing back this year. I don't think they did much in the off-season to improve. Hate the OC hire..heyal they pretty much got pv old staff. Until aamu gets a defense it will be the same ol same ol with them. As far as bcu they are still a 3 win team until proven otherwise. Bcu and aamu are still looking for a Qb. Su is at least entering into the season with their guy.

Actually, agree with you on this one. Especially the part about "PV gonna' PV" w/ an upset and FAM will be our SWAC batch this fall - we kept receipts on those ugly ghetto ungentrified mf'ers from last fall. And speaking of, is Valley still on the schedule? :( I hope not because they showed us how they can put a foot through our assed.

Even with IWU's coaching changes, I don't think we can climb that mountain. Unsure of tamu-commerce as well, although they too have a lot of new pieces attempting to come together.

By default, we should slide into the SWAC West championship.

Texas Southern: Let me change my format for them.
Wins: University of Lynchburg-Virginia, UAPB

Do they even have an OC/DC yet? I dont think any of us have any idea what to expect from the Third Coast Tigers but I will bet you $1, it wont be good.

FAMU: Losses = Miami, Troy, Jackson State, PV, Alabama State
Possible losses: Norfolk State, BCU

We already know the outcomes of the Miami and Troy games but also look for FAMU to drop games to JSU, AlaState, and PV. Under Willie, the Ratters didn't play well on the road. I expect that to continue. PV will be looking for revenge and I think they will get just that vs a regressed FAMU team. FAMU should be ok for the rest of their schedule but why are people sleeping on Norfolk State? Big Worm is a championship coach in his 4th season and a seasoned roster. FAMU has a new coach and a revamped roster. Many people think that SCState has a chance to beat FAMU. I don't. FAMU plays well at home and SCState is a year or two away AT LEAST. Wilson (Morgan State) was a much better D2 coach than Berry and we see how that's going. Also, BCU might have something to say about how the FAMU season ends. I almost put BAMA State as a possible loss but if the ASU defense can remain strong, I don't think FAMU has the personnel to win that game, primarily at the QB position.

I'm going 6-6 for FAMU with no chance of winning the EAST.
