Since when grambling had a following??? Where/when does grambling have a huge following? He doesn't know. Their name is larger than the crowd that follows them. And 1 of the major arguments on this board is why are schools asking for the visiting team to fill up the home team's stadium. There has been many comments of how JSU and SU takes over another school's stadium. But the truth is, it's sad because most FCS schools don't have a large attendance. Furthermore, nearly every college has the majority fans be their fans with approximately 10-20% of the visiting team.....on every level. So again, them leaving was not and is not a comment needed.

I agree about the leaving part. I just think that as a fanbase, they should NOT be eternally pathetic. That's all. This was a great opportunity for them to get off their azz and come support. Maybe there are enough arguments in their private groups to get them to move differently.

Which is why I am happy our first two home games are at 6 PM (as we found out in 2019, it was almost 100 degrees in early October so that Alcorn game being an evening game is a blessing)

I'm actually contemplating not going to the game Saturday because of the 1 PM kickoff and it is supposed to be HOT. I don't drink and I know how to hydrate but still..

Apparently folks are ok with lackluster support and fans so I’m just gone tell Prime to let y’all be. Ain’t no way a man wanting folks to support their own is a bad thing. Y’all probably gone be mad about Prime wearing black draws with a red hat soon smh.
 
Just thinking out loud and generally speaking, I would expect a name like Grambling to have a better following than they do. Being #1 on the Mt. Rushmore, I would expected a better following but over the years that hasn’t been the case.

Yall need to just accept the fact that you have small minds and little confidence in your OWN programs to do better. Why don't you add an attendance incentive in your coaches contract?

Also, since all of you are so slow, Deion's incentive is really a CHALLENGE to himself. He saw that we averaged 30K. He does not TOUCH the first 30K. His challenge to himself was to put a product on the field that another 30K would want to come see. Yall coaches wont challenge your fans to bring another 3K. Yet, yall have so much to say about a man bringing in more fans where the SCHOOL benefits from getting NINETY, 90, N-I-N-E-T-Y percent of the extra revenue that HIS presence brings!!! Yall act like he doesnt even deserve a lil 10%. Moveover, yall acting like that 10% is gonna buy him a new house. Yall need to understand things before you speak on it.

One thing I can say is that Valley fans attending the game have a better chance of being prepared for this weekend since they know what to expect. I've seen people pushing for Valley fans to show up in white gear to keep them from getting as hot. That's a nice start if you can convince them to hydrate with the right type of liquids and bring some sort of fan to cool down.
 
I definitely think we need to address this seriously. The heat wave has definitely changed in the last year or two. SU Band had issues Saturday and left the stands in the 1st quarter as well. Hopefully it doesn’t take someone to die , for ADs to really do what they can for the safety of fans and students.

When the Founding Fathers created the BIG 3, you had to have name recognition, SWAC Championships in football, SWAC championships overall, a fan base and a dynamic marching band. Grambling was so strong in Name recognition and Football prowess, that they let the other 3 slide. They have had years to grow a fan base but they only want to do two classics and Homecoming. Dayum the rest.

LSU gets recruits and they don't play day games - and ESPN does not assign times for + or even tape delayed games

Can’t compare anyone in the SWAC to LSU. They can play a game at 4am, still get 100k fans, and recruits will still make it. They spend 3-4 million per year on hosting recruits.
Heck, Texas spent nearly 300k to host Manning and 7 other recruits and their families for two nights.
