Jones said some members of Grambling State's band struggled to stand up after their halftime performance on the field.

"We had to get doctors and nurses come from out of the stands to come down and assist with several of the band members," Jones said.

JSU responds after record number treated for heat-related problems during Grambling game

The heat took a heavy toll on dozens of fans and some band members at last weekend's Jackson State University football game as they took on Grambling State.

Which is why I am happy our first two home games are at 6 PM (as we found out in 2019, it was almost 100 degrees in early October so that Alcorn game being an evening game is a blessing)

I'm actually contemplating not going to the game Saturday because of the 1 PM kickoff and it is supposed to be HOT. I don't drink and I know how to hydrate but still...

Deion's preference is to play at 1 - anyone who has been involved in Jackson knows SU-JSU is played at 6 but it's at 1 - come on

It has something do with recruits. He has discussed it on video. I dont want to skew his words but he prefers day. I also think it's a preparation issue. I think he rather wake up, get the team ready to handle business and enjoy the evening.

He knew that they left. That was enough. But his major complaint is that they didnt come. That is why he says he doesn't care about what we call tradition. You have two of the biggest names in BCF and the two most dominant programs in the SWAC since we entered and their fans don't show up? When we leave the SWAC, we only need to play Alcorn and SU.

Deion just want that extra bonus that's in he contract if the stadium is at said capacity..... He ain't fooling nobody!!!

Aren’t bonuses/incentives in ALL coaches contracts? y’all coaches dont have incentives in their contracts? What’s the difference besides Deion actually doing what he says/supposed to do in his contract?

Just cause y’all sorry coaches don’t go after the incentives in their contract doesn’t mean Deion is after money. Hell somebody need to be after something if we hiring and paying these folks to win, right?

Why cant the man just want BCF to look good. Have you seen his Amazon Commercial and his other 3-4 commercials? The man has endorsement after endorsement and makes money in his sleep and you think he worried about a 10% cut off 30K fans?

Yall need to just accept the fact that you have small minds and little confidence in your OWN programs to do better. Why don't you add an attendance incentive in your coaches contract?

Also, since all of you are so slow, Deion's incentive is really a CHALLENGE to himself. He saw that we averaged 30K. He does not TOUCH the first 30K. His challenge to himself was to put a product on the field that another 30K would want to come see. Yall coaches wont challenge your fans to bring another 3K. Yet, yall have so much to say about a man bringing in more fans where the SCHOOL benefits from getting NINETY, 90, N-I-N-E-T-Y percent of the extra revenue that HIS presence brings!!! Yall act like he doesnt even deserve a lil 10%. Moveover, yall acting like that 10% is gonna buy him a new house. Yall need to understand things before you speak on it.

He only wants what's best for HBCUs but yall so black and stuck in mediocrity that you refuse to see it.
