Random Thoughts From Mobile

but JR,
You'll lose to *ram. They have offense. (not nearly as good or as balanced as the one you saw this past wknd, but its prolly enough to beat su, especially considering su's defense)

as far as su scoring 35, umm, ASU coasted in the 2nd half.

Dude you are a liar. Pete don't kick that stupid azz on side kick and you dummies possibly lose.

. Does that make you a good team or the better team?
ummm, the fact that we drubbed you for 45 points, piled up over 500 yards, and never was seriously threatened by your team make us "the better team"

sheesh, LaCumba, who's the better team really isnt a valid question.

you're really slipping bruh. you used to be ........

ummm JROCK,
Your defense could not stop ASU's offense. Period. Yall were getting gashed. All game long.

and for once, you're right
that onside kick pete called for was so damn stupid. And to think, yall pay him 200K to do some simple minded foolishness like that. :retard:

as for the coasting,

ASU win more dominant than score

Just looking at the score from Alabama State's 45-35 victory over Southern on Saturday, it's easy to assume that it was just one more hard-fought, down-to-the-wire game between the Hornets and Jaguars.

That would be wrong.

From start to finish, this game was controlled by ASU.

The Hornets scored 21 points and had more than 200 yards of total offense in the first quarter. They held a 21-point advantage in the fourth quarter. They limited the Southern passing game to just 116 yards in the first half. Besides the Jaguars' first touchdown, which came after an ASU fumble gave them the ball at the 4-yard line, ASU allowed Southern just one touchdown during the first three quarters.

"We let it get closer than it should have been," linebacker Billy Gresham said. "We really played them well for most of the game. It was completely different than the last few games we've had with them."

The questions during ASU's weekly football luncheon Monday centered on how the defense, which had given up, for all intents and purposes, only one TD through three quarters, surrendered three scores in the final 15 minutes.

Defensive coordinator Tony Pierce had an explanation.

"I think it was probably my fault," Pierce said. "I asked some young guys to do some things that they're probably not comfortable with. I need to keep in mind who we've got on the field during certain sets and not ask those guys to do too much. We kind of switched out of what we were doing earlier in the game."

Instead of continuing to play the style of defense that had so thoroughly bewildered the Southern offense over the first three periods, the Hornet coaches switched things up and went into a safer, more prevent-minded defense in the fourth quarter.

On top of that, because of injuries, ASU was forced to play a large number of inexperienced players late in the game.

Boy Josh Moon is just setting you people up to crush you all the next opportunity he gets. It's ironic that you would use his article to substantiate your tall tale. I wonder when will Josh do the follow article to the missing championship rings.

ummm po JROCK,
dude you're really making yourself look as simple minded as petey did with that onside kick.

Tarvaris Jackson, Billy Gresham and the ASU coaching staff came to ASU's weekly football luncheon Monday sporting some new jewelry.

"They look good, don't they?" ASU director of football operations Darrell Williams asked.

The consensus among the players, coaches and fans was yes, the rings do look good.

MH,
I can respect that answer. Gram and your Hornets have the offense to make folks play catch up. All I was saying that until we get to the BC, there is no offense on our schedule that can keep up with us. Those escapes that Jackson had against our defense will not be duplicated by any of the upcoming Qbs. Especially that sad arse noodle arm Haren that JSU has. JR has no grand illusions of SU being the top dog this year. But we are going to be way over .500 and we might just see you Hornets in B-ham if things fall right. The SWAC race is not over. Games still have to be played. I just love how folks just think the rest of our schedule is sooooooooooo tough.

P.S. GR it saddens JROCK that you are now pullling mh sacks.

All of you SU people are just praying hard for this to happen and it won't just hang it up man...... I BET YOU THOUGHT YOU GAME AGAINST VALLWY WAS GOING TO BE EASY HUH?????? :shh: :shh: :shh: :shh: :shh: :shh: :shh:

8-22 wont get you anywhere in Jackson?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

First of all, GET READY has all this anti-Southern smack, but you can't find any PRO-Jackson State (Pro bell) smack, now that is really sad.

As far as the backdoor thing, that's just simple math. Period.

and we play Jackson State in 2 weeks. Self Smack at it's best.

Mighty Hornet, you have your opinion, that's cool. I saw a very young Southern team that needs a few more games to get it together, and some dumb play calling. Yall ain't as good as you think.

Robber, surely you have not jumped on the bell Bandwagon. Tell me it ain't so!!!! and I thought Tigerpride was the only one on that wagon and you been hiding on it all this time.

Dude...its midseason...you are 1-2....you would be 1-4 but nature did you a favor....and your season is OVER. GET READY for next year dude.

And su is worser than yall think.
I mean, it's October. You've won one game (against PV). You got worked by Valley (yup, that Valley). and after dodging Albany St, you get thrashed by the HORNETS.
You'll have trouble with any team with any semblance of offense. Your defense is just that bad. (I watched the tape of the GCC again last night)
