Question for Get Ready!

I saw some of your messages on Eagle Post, and I was just curious as to what chance you think JSU has to win this game. No smack intended at all. What areas are JSU going to attack and what weaknesses do you see in USM, and also what areas are weak that you see in JSU that you might see vunerable. Do you think this game will be low scoring or high scoring and what will be the final outcome of the game. Give me your honest professional prediction in this game. Thanks

Are you sure you want to talk football. Usually you people turn football talk into a race riot, but I will give it a try.

USM has a great defense....fast, agressive, playmakers. Nix is a very good DC and plays defense downhill. To my understanding your Dline is one of the tops in the nation. This all means that we have no grace period to get our offensive line together, it should be a learning experience, and everyone elses line should be downhill.

If we utilize the best QB in the nation efficiently, by starting out with short routes early and using the running game, we could be effectively move the ball. We should not try many long routes at all unless we keep a full protection package. We should run a lot of draws to keep your LBs and Linemen honest. Tarnaka in open field can hurt you.

We have a good chance because your offense is usually poor. I dont expect that to change this year, especially with a new inexperienced QB. Nix is the perfect back for a JSU defense. A bruser with not much footspeed is never effective against us. I dont expect Nix to hurt JSU at all.

So, if we play acceptable Special Team.......
If our offense has a smart gameplan, we can win this game.

Your right, our offense is usally poor when we play Florida and Tenn. but JSU, mmmmmmmmmmmm. I doubt we will be poor Aug. 31. I think we could be at our worst on Sat. but we'll still put up 35 at least on you guys. Whos good in the open field. All are defensive guys are faster than you tailback so that doesnt matter. And as for NIX the big Bruiser or whatever you said, Hes a fast bruiser. See, most of the big guys you face at TB are slow. He will be coming with steam and a lot of it, 230 pounds of 4.5 speed power. OUCH!!! look out, NIX just scored his 3rd of the day. Oh and you need help with that racism thing, that can be a very bad crutch. I still dont know if your Black or White and I dont care. Praise to God the Father and His son the Lord Jesus Christ!!!

Did you forget to put UAB and Memphis on that list of teams that you cant score on? Dude, i dont know who you think you are talking too, but I know a little something about football, so dont come in here half stepping with this bull****.

Nix? Fast? Man please. Nix was garbage 2 years ago. That would also be the last time he touched a football. He was big, slow, and all he did was run up in the line and look for a place to fall. He is not a play maker, he doesnt make people miss, is very unimpressive, and needs a lot of help to have a good game. Your best back, Woods, got kicked off the team.

I figured you didnt really want to talk football. And you are right, I do need help with the race thing. When your people come to my home and tell my people that 90 percent of them cant read, they all wear baggy pants, and they all have gold teeth, I have to find a way to let theat role off my back a little easier. Im working on it, but Im not quite there yet. Maybe one day....................

If you notice, the McNeese State posters dont have that problem. They came and ran good respectable smack, not that crap the USM posters posted. USM folks didnt then, and still have no interest is talking football.

What pisses me off the most is the way USM folks ran back to your board like the cowards you are complaining that we instigated this. Its a lie and we all know it. We wouldnt even know about eaglepost if you hadnt come over here first.

You have that Uncle Tom over there, and we have ours over here. But most of us are not going to stand by and let you say anything. Hell, yall had people on this board that cant stand JSU pulling for us against you. If you had approached this board with a little sense, most of the none JSU posters would have been on your side.

Also, hiding behind religion wont help you either. Most of the worlds most horrible crimes have been done in the name of religion......racism is one of them.

Dewayne Woods graduated last year...he didn't get kicked off of the team. He was on the team from beginning to end last year.

Eagle Bomber, this is the SMACK page you're on. These guys have a message board on this site for football discussion. I suggest you go over there. There's some good discussion over there. Here...it's pretty much a place for the various SWAC fans to "rip each other a new one". You and I just aren't in their league when it comes to "talking smack" and "trash talk" (LOL).

Since you are a Johhny come lately Eagle, ask your members about the "I went to school with blacks" thread. I know white people dont feel like they have to pay for the sins of their predecessor, but around here we have a long memory, and I am very wary of any eagle poster. None of you have proven that you are interested in sport, just controversy. And excuse me if Im also wary of white people that come in the name of religion. The Native Americans, Africans, and my limited knowlegde of history taught me that.

Maybe if you guys humbled yourselves and apologized, and we felt that it was sincere, and you show us through a probationary period that you might be interested in talking football, WE might forgive you. We wont trust you, be we will do the Christian thing and forgive for that ignorant indiscretions.....just maybe.

Which ever one of your players that got kicked of the team is the RB that I was afraid of, not Nix.
 
Get Ready, after Nix runs for over 200 yards in just 3 qtrs. and we beat the daylights out of your little 1AA team, will you have the guts to be on EaglePost on Sept 1?

Well, you want here any of that crap out of me, I can promise you.
I think the RB you are referring to is Timmy Blackwell. I agree, I think he would have been a pretty could back for us but he doesnt have the sixth sense about the game like Nix does. Nix is a good friend of mine and he has his head on his shoulders. He wont break away for an 80 yd TD run, but that doesnt always win you football games. He has the ability to pound it out for 4 quarters at 5 yds a pop. Be concerned about Anthony Harris who is a backup. 5-11 220 with great speed. I think he will be more of a big play type RB for us this year. I wont lie either, Im worried about our QB situation. DeAngelo looked pretty good in the 2 games he played last year but we were up by 35 in both of those games. He doesnt have the pure ability that Kent has, but he makes excellent decisions. You will probably see all three of our QBs play in this game. Bower said this in a press conference. I can also say that I watched Tyrone Nix play as a LB at USM. Hes not only a good DC but he was a maniac on the field. His younger brother has that same mental focus. Our D will win this game for us though. Turnovers will be the key. USM 34 JSU 14
 
My comments:

For those "guest" who are new to the SWAC page, you should be aware of two facts. We are proud of our heritage and we are proud of our school(s). We may allow you to smack our school and let it slide. If you degrade our heritage or make demeaning and stereotypical comments, we get highly upset. Despite being Christian folk, we are not prone to "turning the other cheek" when our race/heritage is under attack.

I would have thought that the fans from CUSA or anyone else would have had the good sense to be more sensible and sensitive to these issues when you came to the board. What happened to the tradition of "Southern" hospitality? We (I) don't need you to come over here sugar coating anything, because we're grown men and can handle ours. But I expected your comments to be football related...

In terms of the game, Southern Miss should have the edge. But as this is the opening game of the season, the advantage in player numbers might not be as critical. JSU's two deep depth chart should be free of injuries and therefore the shortage of manpower should not be a factor. A lot of folk like to think that
there is a huge gap in talent between CUSA and SWAC. Maybe as a whole there is, but I've witnessed the recruiting lists of past seasons and I've noticed that JSU has held it's own in the state of Mississippi in terms of getting talented players. I don't see USM as being dominant over JSU in this game. I realize that your defense has been good in previous years, but speed and a good passing game can be an equalizer.

It will come down to whose game plan is executed the best. I'm sure Southern Miss will try to establish the run game behind the big back to keep JSU's offense off the field. However, a couple of turnovers, key stops on third down (due to suspect passing game) and JSU can strike via the punt return or Kent's passing game. You eagles better be careful...Kent can pass the ball!
 
USM may have a good defense but don't under estimate Kent. The kid is a true Qb. and will make you suffer if you under estimate him. He has the ability to make plays under pressure which will take him to the NFL.
