Question about an NBA All-Star

Dr. Phreeze

It is I...Yes it is...
If an NBA All-Star player was traded to another conference (West to the East) before the NBA All-Star game, which team will he play for? Will it be a)The west b)The east or c)Doesn't play.

This question has nothing to do with Rasheed Wallace. He didn't make the All-Star game.

interesting question

Back when I was in the league, I don't really recall this situation happening.
However, I would say that he definitely wouldnt play for the new conference, seeing he wasn't voted an All-Star in that conference.
My guess would be he wouldn't play at all. His spot taken in the old conference by a current player in that conference.
Maybe player would go and still get introduced.

If no one comes up with a definitive answer, I'll go pull out my old players handbooks and see if its anything in there.

I have talked to someone at work about that question an hour ago and he said that the player had to play a certain amount of games in order to play for that conference in the All-Star game. That was his answer, but I don't know if that is true.
