Final Score PV 63 - OU 75

Great Game for PV. Was close until the final 5 minute where OU went on a tear via Hollis Price. PV is looking good so far. The proof will be if we beat Tx A&M Next week. That would be good since they beat LSU this week I believe.

NORMAN, OKLAHOMA (TICKER)
-- Prairie View A&M is best known for its record-setting winless season in 1992. But the Panthers put a scare into No. 8 Oklahoma, which pulled away in the final seven minutes for a 75-63 victory.

After trailing 38-31 at the end of a see-saw first half, Prairie View (1-1) opened the second half with a 9-0 run to take the lead. The teams traded baskets until Oklahoma (3-1) went on a 9-0 run of its own to grab a 55-48 lead.

The Panthers clawed back to within two points before the Sooners closed the game with 20 of the last 30 points to wrap up their 25th consecutive home victory.

Ebi Ere and Hollis Price led Oklahoma with 16 points apiece. Jabahri Brown scored eight points, below his season average of 11, but led the Sooners with 13 rebounds.

Malachi Thurston had 16 points for Prairie View on 5-of-9 shooting. Rodrick Riley, who scored six, led the Panthers with six rebounds.

Prairie View stayed in the game with exceptional shooting. The Panthers shot 53 percent (24-of-45) from the field, hitting 56.5 percent (13-of-23) of their shots in the first half and 50 percent (11-of-22) after halftime.

PV is the surprise of the conference. Great try, anyway. I guess I'll have to take Blu Panther's admonition about PV's talent level more seriously now.

Based upon what I have seen so far, I'm not thrilled about having to play PV. Maybe we ought to go to a rotating schedule in bball too. LoL.

I've noticed that PV has had great shooting percentages in this game as well as the UH game.

Good game PV. Good luck with the rest of your season!!!
