I just got a call from former Sonic Boom member and current Norfolk State Marching Spartan Assistant Director Stephanie Sanders the passing of former Sonic Boomer Michael "Big Mike" Johnson...A crab of 1988..Baritone player.

Stephanie will be calling me back for further details for the funeral here in Jackson, MS this coming Friday.....

She said a church near Jackson State in Washington Addition.............
 
Funeral is 11am Friday, August 17, 2007

Its in Washington Addition behind Jackson State .........
 



I marched in the Boom with Mike.
He was in the baritone squad next to mine.
We did the run-around on Tiger Run-on together....

He was big, but nimble...

Go'on home friend, take your rest.......

Yeah....i signed everyones name that i could think of for the cards I bought.....

I will scan the obituary and post it later.......

His kids really took it hard today .......

Mike was a great man......
He was on of the reason that made the Sonic Boom such as great family

Yes.....That is why I have been trying to get more Former local Sonic Boomers to come back to the games ...

Alot of Family I have not seen since I left for the service and came back.....

the bond we share goes higher than being part of any group in the world.........
