Pete Richardson classic

A baby step. He could've been AD or something. The stadium field should've been named after him. Other than a belated classic, what's been named after Pete since his departure?
His only been retired 9 years. Come on JayRob. This is a step towards your dream for Coach Pete. Did you read the article? It talks about future things we're doing for Coach.

They STILL haven't given Pete the credit he deserves for finally getting southern an outright SWAC title after 32 years. That's three decades plus.

Lets not forget the period from the end of the Vietnam war to the start of the 1st Gulf war where the Jags had as many SWAC titles as the Southern Lab Kittens. Pete led them from championship bondage and they reward him with an obscure home opener title. Traditionless.

Eddie Robinson has a national football award named after him.

The Eddie Robinson Award is awarded annually to college football's top head coach in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision(formerly Division I-AA).

Our stadium is named after him.

Plus we have this

Oh and another thing...teams that play Tech and ULM have made a special trip to walk in the museum....a sign of GREATNESS....

Did SU award Ace with a museum? I'm asking for a friend.

We have a tradition of beating yall asses more times than yall have beaten ours.

SU 36- gSU 33

Shame on folks trying to distract from the dismal and unappreciated way Pete has been treated by southern alumni and officials. It's an outright travesty.

Belated classic? When did JSU start the W.C. Gorden Classic?
JSU did MORE than just offer a mere classic to WC Gordon as a sign of appreciation.
We showed even more confidence and appreciation in him by IMMEDIATELY making him our AD.
We didn't have to wait a decade later. Gordon transitioned from Coach to AD.

That's almost an entire decade. Heck, the man could've died by now.

Damn shame how they ran that man outta Baton Rouge. SMH

He still lives in BR. What are you talking about. LOL. Had yall just rolled over and died that game after the BC. Pete might have kept his job. But nooooooooooooo, yall got uppity and wanted to win.

How long did it take to give WC his credit. And don't let JR tell the real story how yall did WC and Big Daddy too. Yall hands aint clean. Poor WC always was catching hell over any loss to Tn State because he was an alum and when he was AD, yall blame him for Payton not donating money for the Football Dorm. The Bob Hill JSU lovers always had it in for WC including Payton since Hill accused WC of stabbing him in the back.

Here we go with the deflections. JSU folks are ALWAYS expecting a coach to win every game. That's nothing new and Gordon knew this. He was never fired. He stayed in spite of the pressure from a few illogical fans.
Losing to Tenn. State by any JSU coach is unacceptable, so what does that have to do with anything? Nothing.
Bob Hill folks complained about Bob Hill too, but again, Gordon was never fired and he became AD. Bob Hill was never given the job of AD.
Big Daddy was under pressure to win, and he did. He got flack just like his predecessors for losing to certain schools as did Hill, Gordon, Comegy, Hughes and others. They knew that it came with the territory.
Fact of the matter is that Pete took southern out of the football pit of mediocrity, yet he gets virtually no love for his labors of love towards Jaguar football history. That's what this thread's about, not JSU.....so let's stay on point.
