Getting back in the D1-AA playoffs.
I for one would love to see the SWAC back in the D1-AA playoffs, it would benefit the conference if you think about it..More TV and air time, More Money also More recruits. I know a few yeas ago my friends son narrowed his college choices down to Grambling and McNess to play football and he end up picking McNess only because they played in the playoffs..I'm telling you more big recruits would find that intriguing, to be playing for a National championship..Not just a conference championship..

I know you say Southern-Grambling probably wont move their game because they get more money from that game, but cant they move it to another date?? cause that game is only benefiting two teams, an on the other hand the playoffs would benefit the whole conference...
Just a thought...

What date can you move the Bayou Classic? That would allow them to have the NBC National Telecast and the million dollar payout. If they move it back a week, Notre Dame mostly plays the week before and if you think they will take off Notre Dame for Grambling and Southern, we are all smoking something.

I want for us to compete in the playoffs, but also allow Grambling and Southern be allowed to play on NBC.

So exactly how much more money? TV exposure?

I had a neighbor's son choose Prairie View over Stephen F. Austin (turned down their scholarship) because of the games played in Reliant Stadium and Cotton Bowl every year.

Leave it alone....... LOL.... Its not that the SWAC cant go to the playoffs.... The SWAC doesn't have a product the the playoffs want... In the 80's when Jackson State, Alcorn and Valley were going to the playoffs it was because they were highly ranked and their season was already over when selection time came... Grambling and Southern still played the Bayou but they were still finishing 3rd and 4th in the conference so it didnt matter.. They were not going to the playoffs anyway... In the early 90's Alcorn had Steve McNair and Jackson still had a good product... Grambling was mediocore and Pete had just got to Southern.. In the mid to late 90's Southern was now a powerhouse... But those great Southern teams couldnt go to the playoffs because of the Bayou Classic... Then the SWAC came up with the SWAC Championship Game and killed any chance for the playoffs....

1AA move the start of it's play-offs down a week...problem solved and the SWAC is in!

It would impact the bottom line of too many schools for the benefit of a few... just do not think the entire FCS structure should bend for one conference. They just bent for two conferences - the Big South and the NEC - while flatly rejecting the Pioneer.

And if the SWAC applied for an AQ, it would get one. The league may not have the 'product' (per EmptyRight) that the NCAA wants, but unlike the Pioneer League, which continually gets rejected - they do have scholarships.

Research needed.
