One Question the Media Should Ask Coach Sanders

that's the issue - outlets won't ask him the hard question cause they don't want to go in a back-and-forth with him or be banned as we've seen sensitivity over basic things

But we as black folks gotta ask other HBCU alums the same so we can hear the answers publicly so we can fix whatever issues they may be. We gave folks chances when no one else would even think of them but now the kid is better we get shunned.

But we like to run from the hard questions.

Like asking the pastor of a successful mega church why you live a lavish lifestyle so far from the flock you preach to?

But this mega church pastor (Prime) is trying for to help the less fortunate. But the less fortunate congregation is turning their noses up.

We know the answer to that

The statement that has always stood out to me is that he said that he CHOSE to come to JSU while many HBCU players don't have that choice. That reeks of "I know I'm better than you"

Imagine if you are a 2-3 star like Felix Harper with legitimate FBS offers (including the same FAU that Sanders committed to) and hear that

Man, wth is your blue fonts talking now? Your damn blue fonts be all over the place and don't be saying isht. You should just enjoy your perks that Coach Prime brought to your school. Cause I'm seeing YOUR ALUMNI (RICE) doing commercials and not giving a damn about your blue font or school.

So why don't we put some closure to this query so that the taboo question that it's raising will be answered and we can move on to other aspects of Coach Prime that are being contemplated. If asked would he have sent his sons to JSU (or any HBCU for that manner) if he wasn't the HC, his honest answer most likely would be and should be Absolutely....NOT!! And it would be absolutely NOT because he would have seen a playing field that was NOT a "level playing field" at HBCU's when you look at the exposure a kid gets, their overall facilities including the Training Table and their Coaches and Athletic Department's support staff! He has aspirations of his kids getting drafted and having a chance to be successful in the NFL and in his view that is why his "Heart" led him to JSU when he was approached with the offer, to level the playing field so that a kid will see that he can attend a HBCU and be seen weekly on National media and if he indeed has the talent to made it in the League he will at least have a chance instead of simply having a long-long shot. In this sense I would think he would welcome the opportunity to respond to this heart stopping Question.

Basically…no one wants to ask the difficult question.

Grambling would never have hired him to be frank. Take that as a good or bad thing. We’ve had NFLers and former NFL head coaches apply before and they weren’t even interviewed.
Grambling would have hired Coach Prime in a heartbeat! It would have been an even bigger deal.l due to our history, and his respect for Eddie Robinson and GSU football.

Deion Sanders is at JSU, and I look forward to see what he does for them and the SWAC. We have to support it, and be prepared for a War on the field if the day comes. So far, we are 0-1 vs Coach Prime. Hopefully, we get our shhhh together an not allow him to run the SWAC.

Coach Prime if you were not the head coach at Jackson State would you motivate your son to attend Jackson State or another HBCU and play football?

The reason I want that question asked is because he has done all this talking how to improve HBCUs but his son, in my opinion, is only attending because of him.

When I hear him state what HBCUs need it sounds like that kid from your black high school that went to a white college and grad school and earned a doctorate and is only saying positive things about the needs of a HBCU because he was hired by black college. Yet, prior to being hired they were part of the silent majority.
I think the question was answered in their decisions earlier. One decided on a South Carolina school and the other a Florida school. Once Coach Prime got the JSU job they decided on Thee Mighty JSU. Both sons have indicated on YouTube the decision to come to Thee Mighty JSU was their father. In the You Tube video Coach Prime indicated that the George Floyd situation changed his thinking process. He said, "I want to help my people". Founder, it's a great question; however, their actions spoke louder than any question Coach Prime could answer, It is what it is...

He’s in season two as a head coach. I don’t think the question as presented would be an appropriate one. I honestly think his sons would have committed to any school Deion was hired by. Maybe it could be asked of him to explain how his appreciation and perception of HBCUs might have evolved since becoming a head coach at one.

This ^^^^

People act like others can't have a "Paul on the Damascus road" experience and change their perspectives. You damn heathens!!

Do not confuse what I am saying. I did not say he wasn’t a good hire or that Grambling should not have hired him. I said we would not have hired him. We’ve had names like his apply before and they didn’t get an interview. Some applied multiple times. This isn’t what I think. This is what I know.

Who's like Deion? No one! Dude is the ultimate salesman, personality, marketing genius, national journalist, and he brought his own talented kids. Plus, he's a hall of famer, can talk baseball and is on social media more than a 18 year old in horny college student.

🤔

That’s a damn good point. In fact, I could be wrong.

Yes, I know just as well as you that we have had some NFL names interested in the Grambling gig. (Especially after Doug’s departure, and Spears exit.) Some of those names I wanted to keep away from us as well, but there have been very few, (not many), that I would have definitely supported. However, I do believe Deion Sanders would have gotten the gig due to what he brings to the table. Disregard my “in a heartbeat” comment because we have made some “no so smart” decisions to pass on some big NFL names.

I can’t say.

Look, the man is laying a blueprint for The SWAC. We need to get out of our feelings, and see the bigger picture.

Meanwhile, we will follow the PWIs with no question asked?????

what blueprint? Spend more money?

Hire more ex-PWC former NFL stars who are bored?

Just spend more money in the program and you can achieve everything Deion is trying to tell us.
