Once & For All (Big Three Nonsense)

Will you people get it through you thick dense skulls that GSU does not align itself with any schools in regards to being a member of "The Big Three". Why should we? We are the ICON of BCF...That's what we claim that's what we know to be true.

Now if you want to talk about traditional powers of the overall sport programs, then you can mention Alcorn, Jackson, & SU! The numbers back that up. But when it comes to the sport of Football, it is GSU that stands alone as the ICON. Our constant and continous success in the sport has afforded us the right to proclaim ourselves as GREATNESS.

Please refrain from mentioning GSU as being part of some ficticious "Big Three". We stand alone in our GREATNESS!

Short Bus Territory!!

MIGHTY HORNET..........

I tought it was only obvious to me that he rode the 'short bus' to school and wore the brown helmet.

As for "corn-ish hen 69" he still does not realize that he got 'smacked off' of the 'self proclaimed icon' fuzzies he was trying to hitch a ride on???:flippy: :flippy:

It just amaze me how you clones always take your little cheap shots at the best coach in BCF, but you know what? All ya'll need a coach as bad as a drunk needs a bottle wine.You suckers would give up your woman to have DOUGLAS coach at your school, because you know GREATNESS follow each other. Let me tell you clones, it does feel goooooood.GREATNESS,what a great thang.

Uhh Gram MAN that's not....

In all actuality Doug wanted the HC position @ SU, BEFORE we hired Pete....

The Board gave him a big :tdown: , because he wasn't a proven winner ....... That's why when the BC rolls around, he has to do any and everything to try and win.......(See BC '00b for the "3rd string Saftey" play. )

You TIGGGGERS also need to check your history...who was Eddie Rob a student of ???

Hint: Eddie Rob stated " He use to beat us bad for a LONG time"

We Southernites know it just the SU in ya that makes you make these BOLD statements.......but ya gotta read!!

BC SMACK. WHO INVENTED THE BAYOU CLASSIC?

POST SERIES RECORD--------------------------->
POST SWAC CHAMPIONSHIP RECORD-------->
POST WINNING PERCENTAGE------------------>
POST BC RECORD-------------------------------->

NEXT!

To be honest, I've only gotten respect for SU's football program in the last 10 years. Before that, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that GSU would win the Bayou Classic. During the time that I was just getting into football (mid 60's) the GMEN started a streak of dominance over SU. This lasted throughout my high school years and college days.

Of all the teams (old school SWAC), the team that caused us the most grief was Alcorn and TnState (outside the SWAC). No knock on Jackson, cuz yall had a good 4 year run in the 80's and again at the end of the 90's, but it was usually Alcorn that pulled the upset. Most of the time when GSU was favored over JSU (dayum near all the time) we were the victors.

But when it comes to football tradition and legacy, you all know dayum well none of you are a pimple on GSU's azz!

That's "MY DOG"!!!!!!!!!.....................:D :D :D

Jag, Rob was still HC at that time.Your azz is dreaming if you think Doug would have turned down Gram to stay at SU. Like DOUGLAS said, WHEN MOMMY CALL, YOU GOTTA GO BOY.

Gram-Man they just don't understand. Doug would have used the SU job as a training ground before leaving to head up the most renowned program in college football.

Remember when Bob Hopkins coached SU and lead them to back to back SWAC championships? The minute Grambling called he dropped SU like Tyson dropped Spinks!

For the first 15-20 years of the series, Gram got in our azzes royally. Then, y'all stood alone. But since then, we have gotten in that azz, too. And on top of that, we were beating everybody else, too, unlike y'all.

Numbers don't lie. Y'all jumped out ahead big. The gap has been closing ever since. Kudos to y'all on your turnaround.

See your azzes in Gram.

October is coming.:D

Hold it down, hold it Mike -- LOL

I was due to create one of my trademark threads reaffirming our indelible position as that "shining star" (the Polaris) of the SWAC. However, after reading Mike's eloquent statements -- the most storied program in BCF is already upheld. As you mentioned previously, the championships in 2000 and 2001 are two of a "projected" ten this decade. Only Icon Grambling can dominate the SWAC in a rebuilding year (2000). We are Grambling is still the most powerful words on the SP.

Mike, I really think it is time to start scrimmages against the Cowboys or Saints practice squads. What else can we do? We filled all voids with this class.

robber, I thought I would not hear from you until October. How is Kent Testaverde doing this spring? Do you realize Denmark Reed earned All-SWAC honors on October 20, 2000? Buffalo is two years away from matching Icon Grambling 2nd team? Where the hell is GR? It is almost that time.

We are the I_ _ _ of _ _ _!

Yall looking at this the wrong way. The Big 3 ain't about how many championships won between GSU, JSU, and SU. It is about what the other 6 (I'll leave alcorn out) ain't/can't do. No matter who wins the SWAC (SU, GSU, JSU) is not so much the point, the point is AAMU will take a arse whipping from all 3. I ain't gonna hate on Grambling here, just continue to beat the hell out of AAMU and ASU.

Counting the last 2 times y'all beat us, ya'll won't beat us no more than 3-4 more in that time frame.

We finna get back in that azz.

Based on the statements following the started of this thread, I must continue to write about the former big three in my Maroon and White Paper. No matter how long it takes; I am fully aware of the fact that some of you don't get it about the 1000 time around, but let me assure you I will continue to remind you that we cannot win a championship that was played in 1940; let me repeat, we cannot win a championship played in 1940, but the new big three (minus one) is about winning future championships. The new big three (minus one) is the future of the SWAC. Now repeat after me the new big three (minus one) is the future of the SWAC.

It is not about what you did between 1940 and 2001, you must beat the new big three (minus one) in today's society.

Mighty Dog,

Since you're in the know concerning A&M athletics, maybe you can answer this question. Where do you keep the Volleyball championship trophy? Do yall keep it in the same section as the other 6 or seven SIAC championship trophies? Is it sitting all alone in a special room awaiting all these projected SWAC championships yall keep mentioning? Was it underwritten my Maytag?

Mike Bigg, these Volleyball Trophies and the Championship Rings earned by the Women are the beginning of a new day in the daily lives of student athletes attending AAMU. These are symbols that are being used to inspire other athletes in peforming at the highest level possible. It really hurts when I read folks stating that we don't have the athletes to complete with the PWCs. But at AAMU we take the hand that is dealt and make the best of it. But as you can see, up here in North Alabama the home of the Dawgpound, we are proud of the two championships we have won. If the next one is in bowling we will be just as proud. The important thing is that we allowed our students to travel and see how unhappy the students are at the former big three schools.

This is why we dress in that pretty Maroon and White so they can spot us in the stands. We let them know that win or lose we are right there for them. As we take over the SWAC, the minor programs are important to us because no one is paying attention to these non revenue sports. Just think with the addition of a new Football Coach, we will be back in the SCG. You chances are very good in repeating, but JSU and SU may not be able to get back into the SCG over the next ten years.

MB, we don't mind GSU selecting Greatness for whatever reason, but just as the former big three displayed superiority in the past, look at you now.
