Isiah to serve as Knicks' consultant

Even after losing all those games and an embarrassing sexual harassment lawsuit, Isiah Thomas has a place with the New York Knicks.

Thomas was rehired Friday by the team as a consultant, two years after he was fired as its coach and president.

"Isiah Thomas brings unique experience as a Hall of Fame player, coach, executive and owner, and we believe having him as part of our organization will be extremely beneficial to the team's success," Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan and team president Donnie Walsh announced jointly in a statement.

It's a mess and a conflict of interest for both the NBA and NCAA. THe NCAA really doesn't have a rule of sorts for it. However the NBA bans most of thier folks from dealing with college or high school players.
If I'm his college-he's out the door. Either coach or go back to ruining NBA teams. Can't do both-while players on his team would probably never sniff an NBA roster-who is to to say a kid that a Kentucky or Duke mught want decides his road to the NBA is faster being on a team with a coach with a direct link to an NBA team? Even if he doesn't get drafted by the Knicks. He's a lot closer on Ike's team than any other colelge team.
