The Mummy
Old skool Tom&Jerry cartoons (esp the black woman and the SAMBO faces they made)
Beverly HIllbillies
3 Stooges (black face stunts and coonish black chefs and maids)

Compared to today's standard's Charlie Chan, Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, and just about anything pre-1960 was very offensive, but I chalk that up to the times. In the case of Charlie Chan, Stepen Fetchin' (sp), and Mantan Moreland made more money in the Chan films than Warner Oland, and Sidney Toler made as being the stars of the movie. It doesn't change the fact that they were offensive, but I tip my hat to them for making that sacrifice in opening doors for others to follow.

Also as degrading as it is to watch now, I loved "Amos & Andy." There was no bigger c**n than my main man George "Kingfish" Stephens. Degrading as schit, but hella funny. The Kingfish was just as funny as Fred Sanford, and George Jefferson, but because of the content of the show, he's not a very memorable figure to some.

Now that was then, and the times have changed, but some of the crap that comes out now, is nothing more than offensive if not degrading. I look at movies like:

Phat Beach
Black Spring Break & II
Sweet Potato Pie (The Black American Pie)
I'm Bout It
State Property
Soul Plane

.......and think to myself, how far have we really come? Then when I see adverstisments about movies like the one John Amos is producing, and co-starring in "The Watermelon Heist," and think we've made some advancements, but there are some who remind us that we really haven't come too far.

I don't know if this show was so much offensive/degrading, or downright awful, but "Meth & Red," had to be one of the worst shows I've ever seen on television, those 2, and Fox needed there arses whupped for putting that schit on the tube.

Aside from movies, I question a lot of roles some people take. Such as Bernie Mack in "Charlie's Angels Full Throttle," or just about anything that Chris Tucker is in, he shucks, and jives more than anything Stepn Fetchin ever did. Granted he gets paid, because he's producing, but all of that screamin, and making those big eyes......sad.

Anthony Anderson is another that comes to mind, when he's in black movies, he intelligent, well spoken, and plays a respectable character. In the mainstream, he's the loud comedic sidekick, shuckn' n' jiving for the man.

There are a few others, but I don't have that much time.

NICE

I had to catch myself from giggling.
She was the animated Aunt Jamiama. And the _ _ d :( part is, that Ofays thought that's how we really used to act.

Even the Shirley Temple, John Wayne, and Little Rascles movies/shows were demeaning towards blacks. Im IMBARRASSED that they have that mess on DVD now.

H3LL in that day I don't think it was to hard to find somebody that acted like that at least somewhat.

The shows are offensive to me but I keep in mind they are a sign of the times and a part of history.

I laugh bout that nanny on Tom and Jerry all the time. :shh:

Go to Blockbuster pottna. I'm sure you can get all of the sweet potato pie you want.

As far as Tom & Jerry goes. "Taaauuumus, I'm putting you O U W T!" OUT!

NICE

How did ANYONE leave All In The Family off this list? I watched the show, and found it somewhat funny, cuz I just took it as comedy.

I find it comical that many of the movies that you guys call offensive, are just portrayals of what some of us really look and act like. I saw Soul Plane and in th movie it played on some stereotypes, but they were stereotypes that many of us like to portray in our daily lives. So I guess I wonder, do you find some black people offensive as well?

i saw soul plane and thought it was funny, i would love to have a casino/club on the plane(if it was safe and i was traveling far enough).

i do find some black people offensive. i was in mcdonalds 2 wks ago in an urban neighborhood. for those who know memphis (south third street). i was on my lunch break minding my buisness when 3 girls between the ages of 17-19 came in. there were quite at first chatting with a friend that (worked there and sould have been making my fries). these 3 professional white guys come in and order......then these girls get extremely loud. the worker started explaining how she kicked someone's arse, while arguing with a customer in drive through. one the the other girls cell phone rang and she answered stating this is "mf" me and i am minding my "MF" buisness. the manager was just sitting there.....the white guys looked and me and i looked away...embarrassed and waiting 20 minutes, i asked for my money back and went somewhere else.

What that shows is that we can complain about movies like soul plane all we want but you can go to the hood and get the same show for free.

I find attempting to cook chicken thighs and parts on a George Foreman grill at a Fortune 100 Brokerage company in the middle of the work morning very Offensive and Embarrassing.

Umm Bandfan, just because you keep binging up a story, still doesn't make it true!
