Much props to the "Ocean" & "Jukebox" for that classic battle yesterday. Both bands did an excellent job.

And they were facing each other.....priceless:clap:

and no nd for a 5th, both bands played the entire 2nd half. I still hate the accustics in Reliant. The sound was bouncing off of everything.

BTW, Did TxSU have a little kid getting out of a duffle bag, after they talked shat about grampax doing that last week. C'mon, th gimmicks are horrible. TxSU had the field looking like a set from a "Madea" play !!

I'm curious to read the comments about this gimmick if this is true.

I mean, i was confused on it.......i was recording TSU show from the 500 (or 600) level of Reliant for The Marching Network and i was wondering why it was taking lil man a long time 2 get out that bag

You're so right. The show did have the Madea feel to it. What was up with the bed and whatnot? And, the duffle bag boy did get stuck.

^^^LMAO, lawd will somebody please tell these folks that that song has nothing to do with a little boy coming out of a duffle bag :lmao:, somebody's child gone pass out...smh

It was definitely a great contest. Both bands went at each other from the start of the whistle. While the gimmick dance routine really was a downer, did anybody notice the drill they did. That looked like something from Ohio St. Overall, I would have to give it a draw.

TxSu did not say anything about GSU and their duffle bag boy. Both halftime shows were boring. Both bands did a good job while in the stands.

sorry but i will have to disagree with the tie comment.....both halftimes were as dry as cornmeal but from where i was sitting the end zone with all the band heads......SU took it....only by a lil really....but they got it....i was there.....TSU if u had better arrangements you would have seen a tie......but you guys music was very high school-ish.....big ups to the tuba "VOOOODOOOOO" solo....keep in mind it is meant to be a dark feature.......get the band more involved with it.....Jags know what i'm talking bout......and even though it was a dry show i am glad SU didn't do any gimmicks.......

I agree. SU took this one. But I do like TxSU. They remind me of SU a few years ago when Doc was still there and marching 128' A small band with a lot of punch. Tubas wre good, but overall lower brass overpowered the rest of the band with chords and sustained notes that never really let the melodies come thru.

 What's the REAL purpose in having over 150 members in a marching band? If J-State had about 150 members they would be able to travel to Huntsville and Prairie View.

Well that pretty much somes it up... I wasnt feeling halftime at all. Both bands did okay, if you gotta say something about the shows. They were okay. Bring back the old school halftime shows....

This game was a Band Fan's dream.... From where we were sitting, End Zone, no one cared about the game only the bands... And I was not disappointed. But hey, that's why we were there.

I don't see anything wrong with it but if you can't afford that then why have more than 150? Or at least have a travel band.

There you have it. This was the first game in over 10 years that I went to as a pure spectator. No camera, no job, no field pass. Just pure entertainment. And I really enjoyed it. I was the guy in the PV sweatsuit BURNING UP cuz they had the roof open.

I'll tell ya something though. When you tape, you remember stuff, but you don't get to listen critically like you do when you are simply watching the band. When I would tape, I would remember songs being played, and parts of songs, but the recall would be fuzzy until I went back and watched the tape. And the tape will NEVER give you that in person experience, no matter how good the quality.

OK, I'm done. Thanks Ocean and Jukebox. I felt like a kid again Saturday.

ROTFLMAOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Lawd I just seen the clip :lol:The little boy not being able to get out of the bag had nothing to do with it being tied, whoever brought him on the field took bout 4 steps and said, "isht you heavy" and they let go and let GOD" cause he hit that field like there was no tommorrow LMAO..LIL BOE PETE got out the bag sweating lol (i know it aint funny) Madea had to dry him off and lead him off the field..Let this be a learning experience for all the children out there. If somebody ask you to come out of a bag please say no, this is worst than drugs, "JUST SAY NO", now see what yall done started World Famed lol.

here is the clip, go to the dance routine
