Obama - A one term president - lets hope!!!

I agree, Olde Hornet, except for the Sarah part; He wimped out. The Republicans are making him look weak, and unless they nominate someone who is just totally unacceptable, he can be in serious trouble for re-election.

He can't finesse like Clinton could; hence, he better role up his sleeves and show some intestinal fortitude. This "big-tent," bring everybody on board stuff is going to lead him to defeat. Simply put, He needs to lead.

Regards.

Obama has been wimping out to these mofos from Day 1. Every damn bill that has been signed was watered down by him and the dems for folks who wasn't going to support it from the jump. It's been pretty damn pathetic if you ask me.

His only chance at winning is to drop Joe for Hilary and use Bill Clinton as well. That 'Change' stuff has gone by the wayside. The GOP will be yelling 'Change' next year. It's funny how everybody was yelling muck the Clintons back in 2008. Politics will make you eat crow quickly.

This man has no balls - he is spineless.

This deal he struck with the republicans will continue to grow the debt.

He is a one term president.

Sarah will be a better President than this.

"Lets hope" (that Obama is a one term president)????

"Sarah would be a better President than this????"

SURELY YOU ARE BEING SARCASTIC, RIGHT???

Because if you aren't, well, you better be careful what you wish for.

Yeah...this is exactly what we need...a stubborn extremist who will finish run this country through (not just into...but through) the ground.

Obama does need to go Bush Jr. league on these Repubs though. If he keeps going down this path, it's gonna be ROUGH for him to get re-elected.

He said during his campaign that change wasn't gonna come overnight. But with him bending over for these Repubs (so to speak), for whatever reason COULD backfire on him.

I will just assume that the man knows what the HELL he is doing...lol.

Yep.....

He should have stood his ground onthe tax issue and let them explain why they (repubs) let the taxes rise. This was a mainstay of his run for the presidency about folks taxes over 250K and he let this happen.

Why didn't they take care of these Bush Tax cuts when they had the majority?

Now we are just in for another 2 years of in fighting.....

Obama's problem is that he really has never had a Democratic congress to work with. The Republicans will stick together no matter what the vote is on. The last thing that a White southern Democrat wants to be labled as is a Liberal. It's time for the Democrats to do the same thing to the term Conserative. Let's face it during his presidency Ronald Reagan was also one of the most hated men in America.

I agree with you. The president is doing his best with what he has to work with. The democrats did not go out in full force for the midterms and some of them hasn't stuck with him on major bills since his elections. Now, some of the dems are trying to cry foul. They need to sit their butts down. The president would not have had to compromise if they would have growns some balls when he was first elected. I stand firmly behind Mr. President. He had to make a tough decision and the repubs are all he had to work with right now. All this is the fault of the democrats and independences who voted for repubs or tea party folk, or didn't vote at all.

I take it nobody listened to Obama's press conference today. He explained in great detail why he did what he did and I personally don't have a problem with it. I have been critical of some of his decisions in the past, but to be honest I think this is one of the few times when he has actually shown some balls. It's just that in this case he did it against the Dems.

For anyone to say that Obama is somehow siding with the Republicans just to get along with them is just crazy. If he allows the Bush tax cuts to expire and allow taxes to go up on everyone, he breaks the promise he made to middle class America that those who make $250K and below would not see a tax increase. In the mean time, he managed to get a 13 month extension on unemployment benefits. And I personally know of people who this will benefit and are grateful.

President Obama has said this time and time again (and I agree with him), that at some point we have to stop playing politics and simply learn now to govern. We are so damned stuck on our own philosophical views that we don't know how to get anything done.

SOG you are so correct. He helped those who needed it with this decision. It is not always about winning, it is about doing what is needed.

Sarah may be the next president. I cannot vote for Obama, he does not believe in anything but being president. He is almost George Bush redux.

Let me lay this out:

1. This is another trap - as the defecit grows - Obama will be blamed.
2. The concession that he made on previous legislation was a trap - the republicans dont give a dam about america - they care about being in power.
3. Obama does not give a dam about the america - he cares about being president.
4. These tax cuts were NEVER paid for when they were enacted. Instead of having a spine and calling out the people that support them - he should have demanded that they find out how to pay for them if they want them for the wealthy - just the way the reps did for unemployment pay. Obama has no balls.
5. I could keep going. He is setting himself up for being a one term president - which is going to be a good thing unless he grows a pair of balls.

Obama is almost a copy of Bush.

I did not say he is siding with reps - I am saying this is BAD economic policy and this will be used as a weapon against him in two years.

The reps have played him for a fool for two years and looks like they will continue to do so for two more years. Obama is the village idiot - everyone else sees whats going on but him. If you think americans are tired of people playing politics - you are wrong - look what the did for Congress .

What would you have done in this situation? He made a very good decision overall because millions of people would have lost their unemployment benefits other important legislative. The president is doing the best he can with the cards that has been dealt. He make very sensible decision and he cannot be compared to former president Bush..no comparsion at all. I support him now as much as I did when he was first elected president because he has not waiverd from his policies that he promised when he was running for president. He is fighting a good fight in spite of the resistents from the repubs and some of the democrats. He makes thought out decisions and he always think about the people first. He will survive, and he will be a second term president if he chooses to run for reelection.

I would have called their bluff and fought for what I believed in. If they let the tax cut die for all - lets have that discussion in public. He believes in being President with no balls.

Wrong. A president with no balls doesn't go against his own party with the intent to help others.

Have to agree....

For MY beliefs.. I like what Obama did... Especially in these times..
And what kills me is his RETARDED azz party would rather let the isht expire and raise taxes on EVERYBODY in a reciession...

But that YALL party....lmao...

I have NO earthly CLUE why folk think the DEMOCRATS is FOR THE PEOPLE....
They are for keeping themselves in POWER.. They are for staying in their SEATS ....80, 90 year old mofos in Washington....

We get term limits BOTH parties would clean up over night....

The Republican party is already on notice with the Tea Party....

The Democrat party needs to be put on FN notice...

Well looks like his party is showing him who has the balls...

House Democrats reject tax plan without changes

House Democrats voted Thursday to reject President Barack Obama's tax deal with Republicans in its current form, but it was unclear how significantly the package might need to be changed.

By voice vote in a closed caucus meeting, Democrats passed a resolution saying the tax package should not come to the House floor for consideration as written, even though no formal House bill has been drafted. Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Ore., introduced the resolution.

Said Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas: "If it's take it or leave it, we'll leave it."

The vote, which came after many lawmakers chanted "just say no," will at least temporarily stall what had seemed to be a grudging Democratic movement toward the tax package.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a statement that House Democrats share Obama's "commitment to providing the middle class with a tax cut to grow the economy and create jobs." She noted that a House-passed bill, which Republicans blocked in the Senate, did not include "a bonus tax cut to millionaires and billionaires."

"We will continue discussions with the president and our Democratic and Republican colleagues in the days ahead to improve the proposal before it comes to the House floor for a vote," the California Democrat said.

Dumarses... they had 2 years to do what they wanted to do with those taxes but were too scared.

I wonder if Obama will change parties? LOL Nahhhhh.
