The One Man Band
As reported by Fox 26 News in Houston.
There is a 'charity' in Houston called the National Local Brotherhood (isn't that an oxymoron ). Grocery stores donate thousands of pounds of meat and other grocery items to them free of charge. They are supposed to be giving them to the those who need them. But when the undercover camera went in the whole truth was revealed. Here is how the convo went.
Reporter: You give out freefood?
Employee: We don't give anything. When you give a donation...You give a donation, then we give you food.
The reporter then went to another employee with the camera in view and got a completely different answer.
Reporter: How much do you charge?
Employee # 2: We don't charge anything.
Reporter: Well what are you asking for?
Employee # 2: Nothing!!!!
They even had an ex-employee on who used to help load the trailers for donations of meat. But even he had to pay $20 a bag. 'Customers' paid $30 a bag and sometimes $60 to be in the elite club.
Then in the back of their building they were running a mini-casino. Again, when the hidden camera was there, an employee was quoted as saying, "You can in as much as $500 on one of those machines." When the camera is known to be present, that same employee stated, "They don't play for money. These are Christian people."
To me, that is the worst kind of crime. If you just have the impulse to take advantage of somebody, how could a person even fathom doing it to the less fortunate.
Truly sad......
