Four-star QB commits to Princeton over Alabama

Instead, quarterback Brevin White of Paraclete High School in Lancaster, California, is sticking with Princeton where he has been committed to since July 2017, he said Friday.

National champions Alabama gave White an offer on Jan. 25 and he visited soon after.

But the Crimson Tide just wasn't a match, and White called Bama coach Nick Saban on Friday.

White told CBS Sports he stuck with his heart in choosing Princeton because it "checks more boxes" to achieve his off the field goals. He said he will major in economics and pursue finance if football doesn't work out.
 



Somebody take this dumb thread down. One kid picked Grambling over Bama supposedly and now there falling a part. His best experience will come from bama people don’t realize the things happening behind the scenes. He will understand when his financial aid don’t post until April and bama offer cost of attendance monthly lol

She didn’t want him in Florida or anywhere close to his “friends”. That’s why she had Bama and Tennessee Park on. She didn’t care which one he went to, she just didn’t want him to remain in Florida.

You still have to come home after the college year ends.How many kids have we heard go back home and get killed?

And what is stopping those guys from coming to his school?

And if that is true why not come out and say that? Because who is looking bad right now? Not him. That is more AMMO for that wrong crowd to turn him against her even more.

And honestly WHY those 2 schools? Why NOT a HBCU? Where he could meet NORMAL black guys who might set him straight? The NFL drafts HBCU guys.

Bama & Tenn would be the last place I want to send a black male. Not in the age of number 45.

Me thinks Bama promised money under the table if he signed and he didn't. It just makes no sense for her to act like that ... Florida is really good too. This is why I hate signing day ... you mostly see the single moms and all kinda BS that's a bad reflection on the black community and America. We have the best prep athletes in the country being black but we're still rarely represented among the best of the best in academia .... only a small percentage will actually make it to the NFL or NBA so all this emphasis on sports is no bueno. All it takes is one bad injury and all their hard work is gone

Once again, over 95% of the top recruits were black from what I read

Awwwww .... I get it. But college is like a different world or bubble .... it's very likely he'll spend most of his time on and around campus with this classmates instead of his old friends.

Ok so let me help some of you out who are up in arms about Jacob Copeland's mom. Yes she walked out when her son chose Florida, but do you know why?? Jacob has a history of gang related activity and being associated with a negative crowd. The main crew is RAMPANT in Gainesville, which is where UF is located. She wanted her son to go to Bama or Tennessee, not for fandom purposes, but simply so her son, with so much potential, could be AWAY from those who could bring him down. And instead of choosing to go away, he ended up choosing the exact place that crowd would be. So before you say "oh I cant believe she didnt that and didnt support her son" understand her point of view. Now, she did come back and hug him and congratulate him. But she had a moment of humanity. I would have prolly been just as upset. So before you guys judge her, try to understand she was pissed cuz she LOVES her son. Not the other way around.
