Sorry to hear this, Tara.

Right now it's OK on the southwest side, but I heard that third ward and south park are still under water.

BTW: Does this effectively cancel tonight's reunion plans?

Leave it to Olan Jr. to have pics ALREADY!

:D

I have been watching this all day on TV. Y'all got it bad. Is that the Cypress Springs area? They showed some phat houses from that area. I hope everyone is ok there. The last report I heard was that there were no fatalities. That was a couple of hours ago. Y'all be really careful out there!

2 fatalities, so far

:D

luckily it didn't flood in my hood.....we're one of the last areas of Houston that is free from wholesale development...(natural areas)

might as well put the reunion off until another weekend
so we can get our monies worth.

Yeah, that's us. :D

Luckily, our house wasn't hit. We're not in the flood plane.

And Nita, you KNOW I was going to be out there, camera in hand, like the photojournalist I am. ;)

Yes, the BBQ is officially postponed. We have so much meat though, we'll just wait till Houston dries up and then we'll get together and throw down.

Sound good to y'all???

Shallow in Mo. City.

Has anyone seen 59 by the Compaq Center (under the newly renovated bridges)?   It's completely under water. Most of the streets look like the river walk now. SMH...sad.

O'Bladerunner suh......

Did you see lake 288?? 59 was terrible under the bridges, but I-10 was worse. But dayum......288...right up the skreet and round the corna.....LMAO @ Riverwalk...that's what it looks like.

Am I the only one gettin tired of watchin the news???? They have been on since the game was on last night.

I believe it's up to 3 now.....the first one was the sadest where the lady drowned in the Bank One Buildings elevator :( :(

I heard about the lady in the elevator. That was sad......she was in the elevator when it lost power in the basement (or something like that). The out of service elevator then flooded, drowning the woman.

I heard reports of a 4th fatality.

There is a Houston Chronicle Photo Gallery with lots of flood pics at http://www.chron.com/content/news/photos/01/06/06/storm/photo16.html
Most of these are from Tuesday/Wednesday. I'm looking for some from today.

There are several pictures from all over town, some near my house. I wish everybody could see those 4 or 5 18-wheelers that were almost completely submerged on Lake I-10.

Well, now that we are home and rested.... We didn't get home last night... We attempted to enter 610 from 59 and the flood water made us u-turn on the WRONG side of 59 to drive back through that NEW CREEK over there....to attempt to enter 610 from Westheimer.... no such luck at 3:45 AM... we again u-turned on the WRONG side of 59 facing ON COMING traffic... :( Finally, our "team" decided to concede to Awful Arse Allison... We retreated to a nearby hotel until 4PM today when by chance we made it safely to our home. :(

After getting our wits about ourselves, thank God we are all safe... We were trapped and could not contact anyone... Your numbers were at our house and we were at the hotel.... I know y'all understand..

Anyway, all the food that we could is packed in the freezer... Hopefully soon, we can set it out........

.............and it is still raining! :(

Why you wanna see a picture of my car? I'll post one if you so desire, just have never heard a request like that before.

Yes, we are all blessed to be safe with as little damage as possible. :)

I also want to give a shout out to the Courtyard Marriott on Westheimer! Y'all some g's for taking in a poor homeless child like myself at 3:00a.m. :D

Tara, if it wasn't for those wonderful people at the Courtyard Marriott on Westheimer, we'd be swimming...errr floating in Lake 59 today.

SMH

Naw you should have seen "The Gulf of Astroworld" They could have opened up another shipping canal between the new Gulf and "Lake 288".

MsJ4J, time for ya'll to ditch Sprint....I was trying to call ya'll all day just to get those dam busy signals. Sprint wireless went down and is still down......

My wipers went out while I was driving down Westheimer to Hwy 6 to get home. At least I do live in a high area, the sun was shining most of the day and if I didn't look at my rain gauge( which was over 6"'s) , I wouldn't have know it even did all that raining on my side of town.

Allison is now back in the Gulf of Mexico and may become another depression or tropical storm.

Damn, I was the only one who made it to the picnic. I waited until 4:30, and decided to go back home.

LMAO.....I checked the Pavilion area early this morning and all of the park & recreation areas were official closed for the day. I called them to check about it since we had reservations and all. I was making sure it was dry, but they had the gates at the entrance locked and closed.
