IN 2013 JSU HAS NO BEAT WRITER BUT STILL MANAGED TO HAVE A BETTER ATHLETIC PROGRAM THAN SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY WHO AS A BEAT WRITER :lol: :emlaugh:

Both Teams won 2 matches each

Women's Soccer

Women's Volleyball (Jackson State made up some ground because of this sport)
Jackson State won all 4 meetings


So totaling up the win/losses from the sports where teams face up head-to-head, the record is tied 9-9, with 4 of JSU's wins coming from Volleyball. Those 4 wins in volleyball really saved JSU. When you look at the 4 major sports(Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Women's Basketball) SU teams sported a 6-1 head-to-head record with JSU. The difference between our 2 programs is track and field, and those 2 men's sports that we do not field.

Rod Walker, a black guy who mainly covers high school sports. He has been filling in since the JSU position became vacant. Walker also was the temp Mississippi State beat guy when that position came open last year.
