NccuWhere did Rod Broadway coach before Grambling?
While I agree I also don't want another James Spady ... Just saying. Bad coaches will hire bad assistantsCee,
That would not be a bad hire if he can meet the vision of the AD. Again, I think AD Bryant will make the best hire. I am more concerned with the assistants.
Staff is why ... ..... is the hot name around the camp fireWhile I agree I also don't want another James Spady ... Just saying. Bad coaches will hire bad assistants
And before there?Nccu
North CarolinaAnd before there?
That canopy is really really going to be niceAAMU giving whoever the new coach something to work with.
North Carolina
Florida, I got time to play. And what about before then?
Do you think Broadway would have been as successful in the SWAC & MEAC without first working in Power 5 programs?Florida, I got time to play.

Rod Broadway would have been the success he was regardless of where he came from. He coached under Spurrier, but he borrowed little if anything from his offensive philosophy. Broadway was a successful ball control/strong defense/good special teams championship HC.
Coaching in the power 5 doesn't guarantee championship coaching pedigree. It doesn't even guarantee success as a HC.
Hue Jackson coached at power 5 USC, Cal & Arizona State, Clarence McKinney coached at power 5 TAMU & U of Arizona, Mike Haywood coached at power 5 UT, LSU & Notre Dame, Ron Dickerson coached at power 5 Colorado, Penn State & Clemson, and Ron Cooper Coached at power 5 Notre Dame. None of them did much in the SWAC.
Mickey Joseph coached at power 5 Nebraska and Cris Dishman coached at power 5 Baylor. We will see how that goes.

But they were in power 5 as some have said must be a requirement for some odd reasonAll them dudes were sorry aside from Cooper who actually coached in the SCG. Texas Southern football has struggled historically.
Hue Jackson was SORRY before he got to Grambling.
It's not a requirement, but it helps recruiting. These kids don't play for programs, they play for coaches. Some programs will struggle regardless of where the head coach comes from thoughBut they were in power 5 as some have said must be a requirement for some odd reason
they are recruiting with a logo- that same logo has nothing to do once they get in the SWAC - prior to the portal it had a difference now its about NIL and other thingsIt's not a requirement, but it helps recruiting.
