North Carolina Central University is a member of NCAA Division II and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The university is located in the Research Triangle region of the state, enrolls 7,200 students and is one of the 16 constituent institutions of the University of North Carolina System.

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the head coach will be responsible for all aspects of the men?s basketball program in accordance with NCAA, CIAA and University regulations.

Responsibilities include coaching, supervising assistant coaches and support staff, recruiting, scheduling travel, purchasing, preparation and implementation of budget, community service and promotions, program-specific fundraising, and monitoring academic progress and graduation of student-athletes.

Required qualifications include: five years of coaching experience, a successful basketball coaching record, effective communication skills, and a bachelor?s degree.

Preferred qualifications include: collegiate head coaching experience, a master?s degree, proven abilities in recruiting and the administration of a basketball program, a working knowledge of NCAA regulations, a record of fundraising, a record of success in providing developmental leadership to student-athletes as reflected in graduation and retention rates, a commitment to expand the program to an outstanding and new level.
