NCCU ATHLETICS DEBUTS INTERNET GAME BROADCAST SATURDAY

DURHAM, NC -- The North Carolina Central University Department of Athletics will debut an internet broadcast of its men's and women's basketball games on Saturday, February 21, when the Eagles host Johnson C. Smith University at McLendon-McDougald Gym in Durham, NC.

The broadcast, which will be accessible by visiting http://www.nccu.edu/sportsnet starting with the women's contest at 4:55 p.m., will combine live audio play-by-play and color commentary with the ability to view continuously updated individual and team game statistics.

"We are excited about the opportunity to promote our student-athletes, the Athletics Department and the University through this internet broadcast," said NCCU Athletics Director William Hayes. "By utilizing the internet, we offer the ability for Eagle fans and friends all over the world to stay in touch with NCCU and its athletic programs."

After Saturday's debut, the live internet broadcasts will follow the NCCU men's and women's teams throughout the 2004 CIAA Basketball Tournament in Raleigh, NC.
