Alabama State University Pres*ident William H. Harris was one of six presidents from Historically Black Colleges and Universities who was recently honored by the National Bankers Association Foundation Inc. at its recent inau*gural scholarship fundraising ban*quet in Atlanta.
The presidents attended the event to help raise scholarship funds for minority students inter*ested in pursuing banking and fi*nance careers.
The National Bankers Associa*tion is a consortium of Hispanic-American, African-American, Asian-American, Indian-American and women-owned banks. Touting itself as the "voice for minority banking," the NBAF advocates on behalf of its members who serve some of America's most economi*cally distressed communities.
