The Finals ABC/ESPN wants to see: Miami vs. San Antonio/Phoenix

The finals ABC/ESPN doesn't want to see: Detroit vs. San Antonio

However...it'll be Detroit and San Antonio in the finals

I got Detroit for one reason: They've proved that you can have Shaquille O'Neal on your team and still get whupped in a series. I just think Miami's easier to beat in 7 games than Detroit is, plus Shaq's a little banged up.

Rockets over Dallas in 5 or 6. Dallas has no answer for T-Mac who led the Rockets to victory in game one. Yao Ming wasn't much of a factor in game one. If he stays out of foul trouble in game two, this game will be over quickly.

I'd like the see the boys from South Beach get the prize, but I'm just not sure if they can get by the the boys from Motown.

From what I've been witnessing lately, I don't know if either Miami OR Detroit could get by the boys from the west Texas town of San Antonio.

The Spurs are looking like the most complete team in the league. Somebody better do something with Ginobili. Seattle thought the "thug" mentality of hard and flagrant fouls would stop him and T Parker. Well, we see where Seattle is right now.

If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on The Spurs. From the way things look in the west, they maybe at home "chillin" after these next two game IN SAN ANTONIO!

I'm really gonna agree with you..people will dismiss the Spurs, but that unit has won TWO NBA titles and it's still a fairly young team. The Spurs are probably the most experienced team left, Popovich is underrated as a coach and they can beat you in different ways...They can win 121-114 against one team and beat somebody 86-79 the next

Like I said, unless a startling metamorphosis occurs, I don't think Detroit OR Miami can beat San Antonio. The Spurs simply have too many QUALITY players on that team. Even when Duncan struggles, his teammates more than make up for it. And on a night like the last game...he struggled early...the others took up the slack, THEN he got it going in the second half to the tune of 30 points! :eek: Those other teams can't counter that!

Phoenix can get out their fishing poles and bait. They will soon be on the river banks.

As crazy as Charles Barkley is, he made good common sense when he said (in reference to Phoenix,) "You can't not play defense all year, and then suddenly try to learn to play it overnight in the finals." He's right!

The same thing happened to Seattle. They tried when they were committing all those hard fouls after Ginobili and Parker made "slap" fools outta them earlier. They were starting to look like the old Detroit Pistons. Well, we see where they (Sonics) are now. Giving tours of the Space Needle.

They will soon have some company on that fishing boat after the Spurs kick up their heels in the SBC center!

Actually Journalist, this core unit of Spurs have only won 1 title. The first Spurs Championship team's core was, Avery Johnson, David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Sean Elliot, Danny Ferry, Jaren Jackson, Steve Kerr, and Mario Elly.

If Detroit beats the Heat, I'll take the Pistons over the Spurs, and if the Heat beats the Pistons, I'll take the Spurs over them. I think Detroit would pose too many problems for the Spurs, and if Tim Duncan's ankle get's worse, I really don't see them being able to beat Detroit. Too quick on defense, and they attack in many different ways.

The Spurs haven't faced a tough defensive team in the playoffs, and I think that'll be their problem against Detroit. Dallas, and Sacramento have shown us in the past few years, that offense is only good in the regular season, and that's what Phoenix is finding out. At some point you have to play D, and Phoenix just doesn't have it, and neither did Seattle, or Denver.

I think it'll be a great series no matter who they play. I got Detroit in 7 over them, and I have them in 6 over Miami.
