Well you can argue that point, but in any case, in today's league, this Lakers team has more talent than any other team in the NBA. Still, last night, Kobe folded up right along with the rest of his team.

The Lakers have offensive talent, but it shows that they don't have it against the Celtics defense. Kobe can only play one man at a time. Ariza is an excellent defender, but for some odd reason, Phil refused to let the man play in the fourth. Instead, he continued to let Walton play and Farmar play, while Boston continued to score and score and score.

Phil coached his worst finals game of alltime. He must be held accountable. Kobe was doubled and triple team most of the fourth and passed it to the open man, but they didn't come through. One man can only do so much.

Well like I said before, Phil has been getting outcoached all series. He has yet to apply any real pressure to Boston's guards even though the Detroit series proved that they're pretty shaky ballhandlers under pressure. I said before the series started that KG could do more to alter his legacy than anybody else in this series, but apparently Phil has proved me wrong.

WOW!! Look at ALL these Boston "fans" all of a sudden coming out of the woodworks. Ain't said shat about Boston since this board been created, now all of a sudden they're SUDDENLY Boston fans.

Sounds more like fairweather fans to me.:smh::lol:

I am not a Boston fan. I just don't like The lakers. I picked Boston because of these words:

FROM FARRAGUT ACADEMY.................

Dude, you need to go sit down somewhere. I've made it clear in other threads that I've been a Boston fan since the the 80s. Anyone that's seen my myspace page all this year knows that I'm a Celtics fan. Check it out for yourself. www.myspace.com/mrtopdog2000. It's been like that all this year. Don't be bitter (thanks Obama) because your boyfriend and his band of misfits are getting their asses kicked, LOL!!

JayRob,

Regardless of the pressure, you HAVE always supported your teams through thick and thin (its pretty thin as I type). Therefore, I must applaud you for your commitment. But, also as I am typing, "what about the guy who placed 42 pictures in one post of Kobe Bryant in a thread". I mean the guy who called players like "Shaq" a piece of garbage. Is he a fair weather fan?

Do you think he will show his face around here anytime soon.........The other Laker fans are here taking the heat..........

PS: If you remember, ole Dog81 told ya Powe and House would be huge in the series.......

Another PS: I just watched a video on Yahoo.com where Magic went off on the Lakers......The wheels are coming off the buss (Jerry).

:lmao:

It continues to amaze me why people mention Jordan, but NEVER mention his SUPPORTING CAST Pippen, Grant, Kerr, Armstrong, Paxson and Rodman. It's as if those players never supported and helped Jordan become a better player.

Kobe has nowhere near that kind of pool of players. Those Bulls players knew their role and played it, both on offense AND dense and they had heart and they didn't fold under pressure in the finals like certain Laker players.

At least yall could mention this when you talk about Jordan. Jordan struggled many times in the finals, but his "help" bailed him out.

When did Jordan struggle in the Finals? He may have had a stretch were he missed shots......but he was always there at the end to lift his team up and he never had his team blow a lead like that in the Finals on the Bulls home floor. He took over games in the Finals and dominated. When Utah had them beat he went down and stole the ball from the Mailman and He hit the last shot. Just like he has done many times before........just a cold blooded killa. You can talk about the talent Jordan had around him. He trusted his talent but when Pippen or Grant or Rodman or whomever down the line were playing bad.......He raised his game even to another level. Even being double team and triple teamed......all those illegal defenses. Like I have said Jordan rode his team mates in practice.......he fought with them behind closed doors......He never put them out on front street. He took his losses and moved on. He let Phil do the talking on putting whomever out on front street. Normally it was Kukoc...... LOL.

Dude, that's your business who you choose to bandwagon with. I'm just saying that some of these folks hadn't mentioned the Celtics ONE time before now and want to call themselves Celtic fans.

As for me, win or lose....it's STILL...GO LAKERS!!!

JR, how many times has Paxson, Kerr or Armstrong hit wide open clutch shots after Jordan passed it off to them? They did it time and time again. Plus they were VETERAN players during the finals. Kobe just doesn't have that luxury right now. But in the last three finals, Jordan clearly struggled, but his teammates bailed him out by hitting clutch game winning shots.

Like I said, the Lakers are young and they're really a year ahead of schedule, but once they get Bynum back, and tweak a couple in things in the lineup, they'll be hell to deal with for sure.

Exactly.......I can't believe that cat said that MJ struggled in the finals. Wow.....

If you consider being a fan for the last 25 years as being on a bandwagon, then be my guest. You really do need sit down and shut up. I've been a Celtics fan since the 80s, made a trip to the old Boston Garden in the 80s and all. http://www.tspnsports.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1443634&postcount=17

Unlike most folks who watch the game, I think that even though we were up by 25 Kobe never got into a rythym. I was worried from jump becuase he was not a factor at all. Not because he wasn't making assist but he was not shooting. By the second half he was still not in a rythym and Doc knew it. He then started leaving other guys open and they didn't deliver. Kobe also has to at least take some key shots early to get a rhythm.

But again Shawiggi aint taking nothing away from th Celtics. They took it on the chin and held it stiff. Then they gave us the Kimbo upper cut and it was over..:smh::smh:

Oh Yeah Ronnie Turioff has to go. No Championship team can win with that ickd in the booty hair do...SMMFH

Jordan never struggled in the Finals and I don't know where you got that info from...:smh:

He will pass the ball off if they are open and they were known for being great shooters.

What player doesn't pass the ball off to the open man? I'll tell you like this Jayrob. MJ averaged over 33 pts per game in the finals with about a 44% shooting average. He never choked like Kobe.

Stop it with the excuses......Kobe is looking like Dirk right now.

.....

What family doesn't argue every now and then? Stuff happens. Doc did a good by playing "small ball" when even the Celtic fans were criticizing him. It paid off for him. Posey showed up "on the road" and House made a clutch basket or two.

I don't like it that the Lakers are losing to the Celtics, but I also can't hate as much when a "brutha" is coaching the winning team.

Doc is taking Phil to the cleaners.:smh:

Didn't Jordan win a championship away game with the flu and still score 40 points?

Dude had the stomach flu or had some bad food that the Utah folks gave him. LOL. Still wrecked shop. Dude almost collapsed at the end of the game. Their will never be another MJ.......don't know why folks want to make someone out to be. Once they start banding around that better than MJ crap or like MJ stuff.......players seem to fail at the expectations. Watch the media turn on Kobe now............they will be talking LeBron up next.

Dude, Jordan had games where he shot less than 45 percent. Jordan was a streak shooter, but as long as his teammates helped him keep the game close, they always had a chance. It's not like they won every finals game. They DID lose some of those games and the games they lost, Jordan didn't play well.

Some folks have short memories or selective memories.

1996 27.3 pts 5.3 rebs 4.2 assts
1997 32.3 7.0 6.0
1998 33.5 4.0 2.3

Where was the 'struggle'?

Thing is Jordan Scored 40 on John stockton and that other dude..LOL

No hate for MJ over here. Kobe will be listed as top ten in my opion when it 's all said and done. You guys who keep comparing them or their lack of comparisons act like Kobe's career has to mirror it exactly to be even compared. Thing is he is only 29. He can compete at this level 7 more years and can still will some titles so the book is out on him.

See tiger woods. He still reaching for Jack's records. 32 years old.

You have not seen the last of the kid. This is the start of some Epic Battles.
Kobe still top 10 in Forbes too...LOL

He will be remembered. Now Phil made me mad again but I want get into that.

MJ never scored less than 20 in a NBA finals. He never lost a NBA Finals series. Kobe is going on losing #2.........Give it up Jayrob. :lmao::lmao:

Dude, shooting 44 percent ain't all that impressive. Some of those games he shot less than 40 percent, but some he shot more than 50 percent. Shooting less than 40 percent is struggling.

And you're looking like a pure hater because you NEVER mentioned Jordan's supporting cast, which was far better than Kobe's. Now TELL ME I'M LYING.

Dude if your taking 30+ shots a game then yeah 44% is daymn good. MJ's supporting cast right now is about equal to MJ's in 91. The years Kobe played with Shaq the supporting cast was BETTER than anything MJ ever had in Chicago. The fact of the matter is that if Kobe doesn't score, the Lakers won't win.

You're one sad dude. At first you and GR were claiming that this Laker team was better than the Laker teams with Shaq now you're backpeddling..
