Just saw WLBT and Rob J reported and showed Sean Woods talking bad about valley. His exact words were MVSU is only know for Jerry Rice and later said if he could get players to come to valley he know he can get better players to come to Morehead State. Then he said the four years there too long for him to stay.

THis Uncle Tom was sanging to the man at MOrehead State. Did anyone else see this crap?

I've tried to preach to these "die-hard" alumnis that days of Eddie Robinsons, Davey Whitneys, etc. died a long time ago. Coaches are there to do one thing and that is to WIN and GET PAID. School Loyalty doesn't exist.

You would think by seeing Doug sue Grambling, people would have seen my point of view but oh well. We will continue to be stepping stone schools.

He must have said some other negative things they didn't show because at the end of the broadcast, The anchorwoman, Maggie Wade, said, "like my grandmother always said, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all.".

That article isn't related to what Rob J showed him saying to Morehead state's alumni. The man talked negative about valley. Tell em Braveheart.

It's a damn shame that some of you don't know the difference between "bad mouthing" and the truth.

But carry on.

So you must not know the true "Uncle Tom" story. Not shocked. Before you use terms that you don't know much about, learn about it.

Alum or no alum, this is a business. In those days, schools were respected and were loyal to their coaches. In this era, we can make a long list of alums/coaches were have gotten sh_tted on by their alma mater. You used Doug Williams as an example, but the man has reason behind his decision based on what his alma mater promised him. Sure, it sounds ugly and makes Grambling look bad, but life goes on.

ticket, your dislike for Valley is obvious. Woods did not blast Valley at all. Maybe, Jackson estate should reduce their athletic budget. As you can see, we are competing with the SMALL budget. Oh yea, have you recovered from that ass whipping that we gave you on Sunday.

Valley got dissed by SeanWoods on the way out the door. Its too bad he took advantage of Valley like that. Dude has no class.

Can you blame the guy?

He could have just said that Moorehead State presented a better/another opportunity.
Yeah, but those folks at Valley know their situation and needs to do better. Cant keep rubbing their heads and telling them everything will be ok. We're in the 4th quarter and some changes needs to be made before the game is lost.

Valley dont treat their coaches right. Understandable that you cant give them the facilities they need, but do right by them.

It was not a case of "Bad Mouthing" at all......(even the the WLBT newcast) He was just speaking reality.

None of the stuff he said had not been said before. Nothing new about practicing at the middle school, little to no recruting budget, relying on pell grants for

scholarships etc....

His point was that if he could be successful in that environment, then he can win anywhere. No knock on Valley it's just reality.

All the coaches at Valley are in pretty much the same boat, but they find a way to be successful in spite of....

But it is like a family living in poverty.....you do all you can to get out of that situation. You don't plan to be there forever.

This lifetime Swac coaching gig some of you want is not reality......We (SWAC) are a stepping stone conference.

Coaches should be hungry for the better salaries, better facilities, better budgets.

If coaches are hungry they will work hard to improve their situation.

And yes it can all be done the right way (with the students in mind)........I believe, Valley has one of the higher APR's in the conference....

Tell em Get Ready, for those who saw it, he didn't have good things to say about valley. Sometimes the truth is negative and that's what it was negative truth.

Somebody said this the other day... but I guess if it comes from a non-Valley alum, it won't be construed as "estrogen-filled" (thank you suburban-who person).

We are doing a pretty good job for a supposed D2 school with the little we got but like you said we can do better. All of us know this but to pretend or be so egocentric in thinking that your school (Jackson State) isn't in the same boat is beyond pitiful.

The SWAC is a stepping stone conference. So is the MEAC. Patroit. SoCon. Southland. Sun Belt. Even the OVC where Woods is at now. We're all in the same boat. Some have more than others but we're all in the same boat from a national standpoint.

I applaud Coach Woods for telling the DAMM TRUTH about our sad azz conference but we are in the same boat as MEAC. Patroit. SoCon. Southland but the Ohio Valley Conference is ahead of the SWAC period...the headquarters are here in Nashville and the work is being put in...

The SWAC is ran like a church board!
