What surprises me is that this was actually reported to the polls . So many of these pwcs (especially the Ivies) do a good job covering this up & keeping it out of the media.

They still have to make their reports to the FBI that compile all the city and state statistics. The media can get that information from the annual reports.
 
I remember when I was on the yard all the peeps from Ole Miss telling us about the high number of rapes on their campus. You never heard about it on the news though. It was overwhelmingly white girls that were getting raped. A lot of them would get snatched and dragged off due to them jogging after hours to stay in shape. They even started a male escort program around campus to stop the rapes. Again, you never heard about it in the news though. Had the same thing happend at JSU it would have been ALL over the news.
 
In Huntsville UAH has more problems than us, yet every time something happens on our campus it is breaking news. When it happens at UAH, it either never reported or in a small section of the paper no one reads. :lol:

Hell Cee, who gone the hell gone ride out to Normal to commit crime? Much easier to rob someone around the corner.
 
I'm willing to bet most of those rapes are date rapes. Or situations where the girl was out drinking with the guys and ended up in a bad situation. Instances of grabbing a passing jogger are probably rare on college campuses.

Most of the aggravated assaults are probably frat fights or something similar. Typical dumb college stuff.

What are y'all trying to get at? Are these statistics supposed to make us feel better?
 
Nope just goes to show their is crime on the other side of the tracks. The funniest line in America is "Nothing like that ever happens in this neighborhood" or "I thought it would never happen in this area". Biggest lie ever told in America. What happens on the south side of the tracks, happens on the north side. Folks just are blind to what happens because of the majority on one side.

Not so much as make us feel better, as much as leveling the field a bit by making folks aware...which is totally opposite media portrayal...but you knew that...MESSY!
 
Ah. Okay.

I always knew there was crime on the other side of the tracks. This whole country is stolen. Taken with violence and deceit .... Exploited.

At least you go...this allergy I'm having iwth church is getting worse. I can barely finish the last chord on the piano before I'm running up out of there...just can't take that dogmatic religion stuff anymore with people talking to me like I'm a kid...I'd rather be at home...for when the deacon or preacher stops by after church to see what wrong and see if he can make it better..:rolleyes:....:smh:..WhY go? :noidea:

Same with us and Univ of Houston. However, everything that happens at UH is now put in the media. Just a few weeks ago, the president of UH had a conference saying her campus wasn't that dangerous. She compared crime stats with the rest of the universities surrounding the Houston area.
 
smh... The media is only gonna focus on what it wants to focus on when it comes to crime...US. It's "them" in charge of the media, and this is just the way it is unfortunately.
