Moss: I wanted to be a Falcon or a Raven

Raiders wide receiver Randy Moss said in a radio interview Thursday that when he left the Vikings he wanted to be traded to Atlanta or Baltimore instead of Oakland.

Moss said Falcons owner Arthur Blank told him that Atlanta did not want him to come, according to the interview that aired Thursday morning on "Mayhem in the A.M." on 790 The Zone in Atlanta.

"I want to tell every Atlanta Falcon and football fan that's listening to this what happened. When I was getting traded from Minnesota I wanted to come and play for either the Atlanta Falcons or the Baltimore Ravens," Moss said.

Talk about a bombshell statement!!! This guy wanted to come to Atlanta and Arthur Blank said he wouldn't fit in?!?! That's the one thing that Atlanta needs...a dayum receiver!! I wonder if Arthur is going to respond to this. This is sure to get the Falcons fans talking here in Atlanta.

This is one reason ive never liked the Falcons. They're cheap and even when they have good players they never keep them long. Hell they had Brett Favre...let him go. They had Deion...let him go. They need to trade Vick and put Schaub in as the QB so they can free up some damn money...but that'll never happen because Vicks sole purpose really is to put butts in the seats. I don't see him ever winning a superbowl as a QB though..especially when the only people he has to throw to are Crumpler, Roddy White..and whoever the rest of those clowns are.

How the hell can you turn down Moss AND T.O.? OK T.O. maybe I understand, but i'm willing to bet they'll regret the hell out of it when the Cowboys come to the dome...and I have tickets to that game.

Unfortunately for Moss, if he played every down like it was his last one, he would be in the ATL right now. Tha Falcons owner is not cheap. It would take me a moment to make a decision too with someone as sometimey as Moss.

oh well, I am sure they are happy with Roddy White and Jenkins and whoever else they got for Vick, and they wonder why he doesn't put up bigger numbers. The only person he really trusts is Crumpler.

The big problem in Atlanta is the type of offense, west coast, they are running. It does not suit Vick's arm strength, which is great. It does not take advantage of someone of Moss' speed, like Dennis Green did in Minnesota. Oakland's offensive philosophy under Shell and Davis would take advantage of Moss' skills. Also, Green's former offensive coordinator in Minn. is Raven's head coach Bryan Billick, whose offense is different than what is run in Atlanta.

As the biggest Falcons fan on this board, I am very upset about us not getting Moss. I heard back then that he was a possible acquisition for the birds but I didn't know he actually wanted to come here. That really hurts given how much they need receivers. Crump is the real deal and I'm looking for big things out of White this year. But they are not in the same league with a Randy Moss. As much as might likes to throw deep, Moss would have been a great fit. That kind of thinking is why 20 idiots passed on Moss when he was drafted and he made all of them look like fools.

Speaking of Baltimore I wished that McNair could have played under Billick's system years ago.

Man, forget Randy Moss. That guy takes more plays off than any other player. We needed a WR who could block as well as catch. I'm glad he didnt come here. I dont think I could take him running over an ATL police officer.

I don't know about that EB, Baltimore has been a quarterback, and reciever graveyard since Billick took over, and from the way things have looked on offense for him since he's been here, I don't know if it was more of Denny Green's influence when he was in Minnesota, than Billick's so called genuis.

He's had numerous free agent quarterbacks roll through Owings Mills, and he's yet to develop a quarterback that they've drafted, and outside of Todd Heap, all of the recievers he's drafted, or signed as free agents have stunk.

Marvin Lewis made him look good with that defense he put together, and even then the offense was terrible. The year they won the Superbowl, they went like 5 games without scoring an offensive touchdown.

He's probably the most overrated coach in football right now, and if the Ravens don't get past the wildcard this year, his arse will be gone. That Superbowl win is the only reason, he didn't get fired last year, but make no mistake about it, he's on borrowed time. It's either him, or Ozzie Newsome, and the fans up here love Ozzie, so I seriously doubt Ozzie will be gone, unless he's ready to be Alabama's AD, and he resigns.

NICE

he got Derrick Mason, Mark Clayton, Todd Heap, and possibly Randy Hymes to throw to, plus with Jamal Lewis and Mike Anderson running the ball the offense should be waaaaaaay............better.

Randy Moss in Atlanta woulda been pissed off because Vick couldn't get him the ball. Vicks claim to fame always has been, and always will be, his scrambling ability. He's a running QB. The guy is not the type of QB who will throw the ball into a tight spot and trust his WRs to make the play on a regular basis. They gotta be wide open for him to throw it.

Moss, T.O. or any other great WR would be wise to stay away from ATL.

You would have never known he took any plays off if he hadn't said anything. All players have "free" plays except for the center and the QB.

Maybe they do. But some WRs actually try to block....see Pittsburgh Steelers and do not take plays off. Randy not only will take plays off. But all he can do is run 2 patterns. He aint never going across the middle. If he would he could be even more deadly. He better do something because he will not be fast forever. It was so bad here that other teams knew when Randy wasn't getting the ball. At least other players fake it well. If I saw one more sweep to the outside and Randy throwing a block like a girl I will>>>:vomit: He is right were he needs to be.

I've seen Randy play and knew he took plays off before he even opened his mouth. Randy has lost his edge and becoming just another WR who can be shut down with 1 on 1 coverage. Just like an old Tim Brown, an old Jerry Rice, and a middle age Andre Rison.

Does it really matter who the WRs are in ATL as long as Vick is the QB? Vick could have Moss on one side, TO on the other, and #88 from INdy in the slot and he would still be running past them downfield with the ball.

That's right. Scoring while passing them on the way to the endzone. Now, let's talk about Bledsore....

You mean the QB that has lead a team to a SB and has a SB ring. Vick will never lead a team anywhere. Remember, HE said he still dont understand whats going on.

I haven't seen Randy shut down on coverage.

JR,
Also, if the play is not coming your way you won't be doing much as a receiver. You can block of course, but it is still basically a play off because your blocking is just to aggravate the DB if anything.

And what happens if the play is coming your way? I've seen Moss lack of blocking when the RB's play was called to his side.

What SB did Bledsore win? I know Brady actually did the job that he couldnt do, but I dont recall Bledsore winning one.

He beat Pittsburgh to take them TO the SB that Brady (the defense) won.

So, you are actually saying that Brady won the SB and not Bledsore? Is that correct?

No...the defense won that superbowl. Bledsoe got them there. I am not a Cowboys fan but the dude has had a lot of success.
