I use to love the Cowboys as a kid. Outside of them playing the Vikings or sometimes the Raiders, I almost always wanted them to win. However, things have changed. I think that Jerry needs to make things uncomfortable for the general manager but will not expect it to happen anytime soon.

Give Jerry credit. The Cowboys may fail to reach the playoffs, but things are not boring around Valley Ranch.

Changes have indeed come to Valley Ranch.

Apart from the departure of defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and the change in philosophy from 3-4 to 4-3 with the arrival of Monte Kiffin, more seismic shifts are possible.

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, owner Jerry Jones is pushing coach Jason Garrett to relinquish play-calling duties. Per Mort, Jones also may be trying to get Garrett to fire his brother, tight ends coach John Garrett.

Jerry just setting the table for some changes. Garrett gone quit and Jerry will go hire him another coach. Instead of Jerry just cleaning house, he is playing this game. Fire the whole staff and start over. Then hire you a GM before the draft combine.

Yep I read something that said that same thing. Jerry is trying to basically give Garrett a reason to quit or be fired.

I thought Jerry was the GM?

I want Garrett gone, but if he had any pride, he'd resign. Dude has absolutely no control over his own staff. Jerry is running everything. I'm sure some other team would give him another chance.

It amazes me how JR knows everything about the Cowboys inside and out...the thinking of the owner coaches and such for someone not a fan...Ohhh Great JR please tell us what will happen next to the Dallas Cowboys!

Didn't he know this before he took the job?

He is Beans. That's why I said instead of him playing the cat and mouse game with Garrett and scapegoating Rob Ryan for the Cowboys failure. He should just fire the whole staff and fire himself as the GM and hire a REAL ONE.

You still salty because your Boys suck so bad and ole Jerry is just playing with your emotions with all his shenanigans? I know it must be hard to root for a team that has not done nothing since Clinton's 2nd term in office. Nothing hard to know about the Cowboys. Your idiot owner puts it out there for all of us to see because he is an attention whore. LOL. Don't take a rocket scientist to see what he is doing. He has to do something because he opened his mouth up to some reporters about making folks uncomfortable in the next few weeks and months. So what does his arse do? Fire Rob Ryan who actually improved your defense with players being hurt and with new players who were not even on your roster last year. C'mon DCG. Don't put this on me. Since you in with the LSU crew just holler at Claiborne or Spears and tell them to pass a message to Jerry for you. LOL.

Yeah he knew. It began with him. But remember Jerry messed over Wade Phillips by making sure he had to take Garrett as his OC. He hired Garrett away from Miami when nobody wanted that dude and made him the OC even before hiring a Head Coach. Then poor Wade Phillips got stabbed in the back by ole Jason and ended up getting fired so Jason could take over. All of sudden the offense saw improvement with him as the HC. But wasn't he calling the plays even under Wade? But suddenly you become head coach and the playcalling gets better? Anything that ole Garrett gets it was coming to him. I bet Wade is laughing his arse off right now.

Actually, Dallas won the Super Bowl against Pittsburgh in January (or February) of 1996. That was during Clinton's first term, but I understand what you are saying. You make a very excellent point. It has been a long time since the Cowboys have made a lot of noise in the post-season. They also won the division the following fall before losing to Carolina in the playoffs.

Since then Atlanta went to a Super Bowl while Tampa Bay and New Orleans won Super Bowls (former perennial losing teams). The Clippers, yes the Clippers, have the second best record in the NBA this season. It has been a while since Cowboy fans have had a lot to cheer about during the post-season.
