More PV Contract Extensions

Rimm? :noidea:

He need(s/ed) to stay zb. lol It's hard for me to explain here but I like his philosophy, considering what he has to work w/. I advocated for him to Fred & prezy Wright waaaaaaaaay before the season ended earlier this year. I am a strong supporter of Mr Rimm. :read:

This year the program is better than it has been...

Thats not saying much...I doubt it could've gotten much worse. I'm still not sold on Rimm...but I'm glad we atleast saw some improvement this past season. We'll see. All in all, I'm glad PV is now investing in its athletic program.

PANTHERS LOCK UP BIG THREE FOR THE NEXT FOUR SEASONS

PRAIRIE VIEW – The Prairie View A&M Department of Athletics will enter the 2009-10 school year with the faith of its football and basketball programs in good hands with the resigning of head coaches Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, Henry Frazier and Byron Rimm II to new four-year contracts.

PVAMU athletics has consistently been on the rise on the gridiron and hardwood and the success of all three teams has been largely due to the leadership of this dynamic trio.

Cooper-Dyke, a former WNBA star, Olympic gold medalist and 2009 WBHOF inductee is beginning to make just as large of a mark in the coaching profession as she did as a player. Cooper-Dyke has led the Panther’s women’s basketball team to unprecedented success as she took over a program four years ago that never had a winning season. In only her second year at the helm she guided the Lady Panthers to the SWAC regular season and post season championships and a trip to the NCAA women’s basketball tournament. The following season the Panthers won the conference regular season title again and earned a berth to the NIT. This past season, the Lady Panthers claimed the SWAC regular season and post season crowns and returned to the NCAA tournament for the second time in four years with Cooper-Dyke claiming two Conference Coach of the Year awards along the way. “I’m very excited about the team that is coming back along with the players that we have coming in next season,†noted Cooper-Dyke. “The team worked extremely hard this off-season and I believe big things are on the horizon for PVAMU women’s basketball.â€

Frazier is credited with turning the PVAMU football program into one of the top programs in the Southwestern Athletic Conference during his five-year tenure.
