No Shame: I wrote last week about Alabama State offensive lineman Lionell Mapp breaking through the floor at ASU's mobile football facility. That's right, Mapp fell through the floor and one leg nearly hit the ground below.

Anyway, I've been thinking about this for a while and I think now is the time to say it: ASU has no business on the Division I level.

If you're operating a program that can't manage to obtain the necessities, you need to take a serious look at where you are and what your options might be. ASU is in that position now.

And I'm not saying that simply because of the incident with Mapp and the dilapidated state of the "football offices." It's also the practice field, which is so riddled with holes that the team is avoiding it, and the compliance office, which still employs just two people.

This program, like the rest of the SWAC's programs, should be in Division II. And I'm failing to see the shame in admitting it.

If ASU were to drop to Division II, it wouldn't look so bad when Tuskegee handed out its annual Turkey Day whipping.

Dude unlike you Our players have nice workout facilities, nice coaches offices, good field with another one on the way, great meeting rooms and a nice place to play.. So not all SWAC teams need to move down.

Josh has not been around the entire sWAC he just so used to that dump he don't know no better.

Fock him he don't know ish. If that's the case them many FCS schools should follow suit. Even most of the top 25 teams in FCS scapping by with meager budgets so should we all move down.

A small few have 10-12 million dollar budgets the rest are in the 7-6m and then it drops off from there. Josh is just mad at you guys and your poor facilities.

The SWAC needs coaching and that it. If we had better coaches we would win more games.

I can name and show you JSU facilities. I can show you the upgrades including new tennis facilities and dressing rooms for Softball, Baseball and Tennis. I can show you that we are adding a soccer field and another practice field for the football team. Show me signs that ASU is investing in a winning product...Show me Mr. Spin Doctor.
