 Atlanta is steadily growing that's good to see.

Cee,

What's up with all of these shows coming out of Atlanta? Don't get me wrong Real House Wives of Atlanta is good, but (Big Rich Atlanta, Love and Hip Hop, The Ladies of R&B) these shows are not that good. It's good that the Atl is the black Hollywood, but some of the these show are exploiting black women.

Atl is and has always been slum beautiful.

Networks/production companies get bigger tax credits filming in Georgia. Basically, it's cheaper and more profitable to film in Georgia.

Atlanta's population grew, but the infrastructure didn't (highways & streets). Don't roll into or out of Atlanta during rush hours.

I agree but what is ironic about it is continuous construction of the roads have been going on for the last twenty years. These guys work in the night and on weekends but it's just not enough. They have tried putting lights to regulate traffic on the on ramps, added pay lanes and a few other things but it is temporary fixes.

Brah, I deal with it every day. My average morning commute is an hour-fifteen; evenings are an hour and a half.

You will make a big mistake by getting in the right lane exiting on to I-20 West from 285. Don't do it, I erg using extreme caution. That exit have to be the "Trucker's Capital" of the U.S.-and you will be stuck there unless you weave your way in that right lane less than a mile from the I-20 exit. If you mess around and get in that right lane 2-4 miles back, then be patient and forget about getting home on time. It ain't no joke. :shame:

Please elaborate....Make sure you have a pro and con column and do a reconciliation.

Not to sound cynical or a hater, but I somewhat agree with jsu33. Black people limited economic wealth and ownership of hardly no natural resources makes it almost impossible for us to maintain any type of positive growth and prosperity over a long period of time in this country at one location. And when an area does experience a high growth rate in the Black population, most of the time there would come a point in time that the majority of the individuals moving-in would have more of a negative impact instead of a positive impact, basically turning into a fad for those that have nothing to offer. Tulsa, OK (The Black Wall Street) was the closest place in this country that had the potentials to empower a large number of Black people over a long period of time and you know what happen to it. How many Fortune 500 companies in Atlanta, GA are more than 50% owned by Black people? The badly directed movie Putney Swope is a good example of what would probably happen when Black folks are put in-charge of a major corporation.

One would have to crazy to think there are not successful blacks in the Atlanta area. Yes Atlanta has a ton of black folks fronting, but for every black person fronting there is three who have real money. I know thousands who do. Pops is just hater.

Don't ever become a criminal defense lawyer. :emlaugh:

A) Black Wall Street? Do you think General Sherman is coming back to Atlanta this time to burn down the 2.7 million AA out of their homes? :emlaugh:
B) How many fortune 500 companies in the entire U.S. is predominately black? :emlaugh: Atlanta has the most black owned businesses in the entire country
C) Limited economic wealth? Dekalb County, GA. is 2nd only to Prince George County Maryland in average income of AA in the U.S. and it's been that way for a while.
D) Put in charge of Corporations? Blacks run all kind of entities in metro Atlanta (colleges, businesses, law firms, accounting firms, city governments, county governments, school systems etc.). The last time I looked this has been going on for decades and we haven't experienced business infrastructure Armageddon yet. :emlaugh:

Also, Black folks weaken their political power on a national level when they lump themselves into large urban metropolitan areas. Large urban areas in this country like Atlanta might control like one or two congressional districts in the U.S. House. If 5 million Black folks could move from large urban areas and spread out into smaller closely contested gerrymandered congressional districts, Blacks folks in this country would have the potentials to influence way more congressional races. Basically for every 1 or 2 congressional districts Black folks would give up in areas like Atlanta, they probably could gain 10 more somewhere else. So politically speaking, large urban areas like Atlanta are a bad thing for Black folks. And by the way, to correct your historical perspective of the Civil War, General Sherman's "Total War Concept" was to destroy and kick White folks out of their homes, so he could put an end to a silly war that started over White folks in the South wanting to keep Black folks in slavery. Also, a good criminal defense attorney never present their real argument first. A good criminal defense attorney always lure their opposition into presenting their argument first so they can kill them with their strongest fact, but I'm sure you have a rebuttal to my argument and why you think Blacks folks should lump themselves in Metro areas like Atlanta.

If jSU could get at least 200,000 Black Mississippians that have moved to the Atlanta Metropolitan area back to Mississippi, Mississippi would have an unprecedented change in demographics and jSU would have a much stronger chance in getting their domed stadium.

Now you know those type of T.V. shows are the best thing that have ever happen to Black folks since BET. Twerking their azzes and acting crazy on T.V. are getting Black folks paid. How else do you think Black folks are going to empower themselves? I'm sure Jrock would agree with me on that. :emlaugh:
